The Readers' Choice Awards are decided by travel enthusiasts worldwide who heavily engage with Condé Nast Traveler. Over 240,000 readers shared their most recent travel knowledge regarding the world's best hotels, resorts, cities, countries, islands, spas, trains, airlines, airports, cruises, and more. The Readers' Choice Awards are the most reputable and longest-running recognition of excellence.
So, with that being said, 50 resorts were chosen as the world's top locations. Check out which made it to the top below.
1. Adare Manor – Co. Limerick Ireland
2022 is Adare Manor's sixth appearance on the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. One reviewer, David Jefferys, wrote "Adare is a delicious mix of old and new. It's barely 30 minutes from Shannon Airport, making it one of the closest country manors you can reach on seasonal, nonstop flights from the U.S. (it's an easy two-hour drive from Dublin in winter)."
Adding in, "While retaining an old-school, aristocratic vibe, Adare's fanciful gargoyles, genuinely warm staff, grand, and intimate spaces, and super-comfortable rooms make it somewhere uniquely and unabashedly the Ireland of now."
2. Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach – U.A.E
This resort allows you to be in two places at once, giving guests a true beach and city break. The location is elegantly decorated with Murano chandeliers, gold-leaf ceilings, and marble. It offers lagoon pools, breathtaking sunsets, spa treatments, and fine dining. According to a reader, "There's no better way to see and do Dubai."
3. Uxua Casa Hotel & Spa – Trancoso, Brazil
The post-hippie village of Trancoso, on the Atlantic coast, established Uxua to be a Brazilian getaway distant from the clichés of soccer and carnival glitz.
Reader, Chris Caldicott shared, "This is a place that could pull anyone to Brazil—a jungle gypset pin-up for the transglobal community and an effortless hangout for accomplished daydreamers. Super laid-back and informal, a million miles from the look of any cookie-cutter hotel."
Caldicott concluded, "Uxua has many imitators but no equal."
Adding in, "You will never have more fun expending less effort anywhere in the world."
4. COMO Uma Ubud – Balie, Indonesia
This modern yet home-like resort has a fresh take on its interior design as well as private courtyards, and infinity-edge plunge pools.
Juliet Kinsman shared in her review, "Because Bali is a tropical island, there's a misperception that it's all about beaches. Yet there’s little more dramatic than the magical tableau of Ubud's jungle scenes. At COMO Uma Ubud, coconut palms and banyan trees frame 46 rooms, suites, and villas, all designed by Koichiro Ikebuchi, offering an intimate, hyperlocal experience."
5. Atlantis, The Palm – Dubai, U.A.E
Often compared to its sister resort in the Bahamas, Atlantis, The Palm is described as "magical." Laure Ratliff, a reviewer of the location shared, Atlantis truly has it all: a massive waterpark, an aquarium, luxury shopping, and more restaurants than you can count on both hands." Adding in, "If you have a herd of kids that you want to keep entertained and happy, there’s nowhere better than Atlantis the Palm."
Their beach clubs and vibrant nightlife scene offers never ending opportunities to sip by the pool, get cozy in the sand or dance around to the some of the best DJs.
