It’s official, you guys, Ariana Grande just announced that her Sweetener World Tour movie is coming to Netflix! The singer took to her social media accounts on December 8, 2020, where she shared some snaps from the 2019 tour and tagged the platform. Her exciting announcement comes just a few months after it was reported that all the streaming services were fighting over who would get access to the concert flick.
“Ariana’s team are negotiating a huge deal between a number of big hitters, with Netflix and YouTube both showing interest. Netflix has put forward a starting offer of [$5] million to get the rights. The deal is being negotiated by Ari’s closest advisers, led by [her manager] Scooter Braun,” a source told The Sun in August. “She had cameras following her every move on the Sweetener World Tour last year. Along with her performances, Ariana was filmed backstage, while traveling and during down time. It will be a brutally honest and raw depiction of how tough life can be on the road but will include the happier, heart-warming times too.”
But wait, when is the film going to come out? Will it showcase the entire Sweetener World Tour or will any songs be left out? What is she going to sing in it? And what else do we know? Not to worry, you guys, because we rounded up all the details that are out there so far, so get excited!
When Is The ‘Sweetener World Tour’ Movie Coming Out?

Unfortunately, there’s no release date for it just yet, but Capital FM noted that based off of the network’s previous releases, it’s “likely to be a matter of weeks away.” Plus, we all know Grande loves to surprise her fans, so she may just drop it out of nowhere without any warning!
What Is She Going To Sing In It?

During her Sweetener World Tour, Grande sang songs from both her Sweetener and Thank U, Next albums, as well as old classics like “Side to Side,” “Love Me Harder,” “One Last Time,” “Dangerous Woman” and more. It’s unclear if she’s going to include the entire set list in the movie or if it’ll be shortened at all, but we did get a clue back in December 2019. Yep, at the time, the brunette beauty dropped a live album, called K Bye for Now (SWT Live), and it included all 32 songs that she sang on tour. Get this — it even included guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and Childish Gambino. We hope the movie follows suit!
What Else Has Ariana Grande Been Up To Recently?

For those who missed it, the “Thank U, Next” songstress dropped her new album, Positions, on October 30, 2020, and it’s full of bops! Plus, it was recently announced that Grande has been cast in a new movie called Don’t Look Up.
According to Deadline, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, Timothée Chalamet, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry and Tomer Sisley are all also starring in the film. Netflix has reportedly teamed up with Adam McKay (who was behind movies like Step Brothers, Anchorman, The Big Short and more) to make the movie. As for the plot, the outlet reported that it will follow “two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.” How awesome does that sound?! It’s unfortunately still unclear who Grande will play, but either way, we know this movie is going to be amazing.
She And Her Boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, Are Stronger Than Ever

Despite her busy schedule, Grande and her beau, Dalton Gomez, are still going strong. As fans know, news first hit the web that they were dating in February 2020, and they’ve been total couple goals ever since! Just last month, a source told E! News, “Ariana is madly in love with Dalton. It’s a very healthy relationship. They love to be ‘normal’ and Ari loves that he is very down to earth. He balances her out from the crazy industry she is in. They spend a lot of time hanging out at her house being low-key.”
Plus, on December 3, 2020, the 27-year-old shared an adorable photo of her and her the realtor kissing to Instagram, and we were so here for it.
“Some life stuff,” Gomez captioned a collage of photos of on Instagram, one of which showed the lovebirds sharing in a big ol’ smooch.

Grande also included a bunch of songs about Gomez on her new album! Take “Safety Net,” for example.
“You’re making me forget my past / Never thought I’d feel like that again / I came to peace with my path / Now you got me off track / I’ve never been this scared before / Feelings I just can’t ignore / Don’t know if I should fight or fly / But I don’t mind,” the lyrics read. “Tripping, falling with no safety net / Boy, it must be something that you said / Is it real this time, or is it in my head? / Got me tripping, falling with no safety net.”
Plus, the track “Nasty” is all about the pop star not being able to keep her hands off of her beau.
“You got me all up in my feels / In all kinda ways / I be trying to wait, but / Lately, I just want to keep it real / No more playing safe, let’s / Take it all the way / I’m just saying,” she sings in the explicit track. “Don’t wanna wait on it / Tonight, I want to get nasty.”
“West Side” is another love song seemingly for Gomez, and get this — Grande even sings about becoming his wife!
“Just let me be in your life like that / Be your wife like that / I’ll bring the light right back / I’ll bring the life right back / I’m gonna make you want more / I’m gonna be your new favorite / Tell them you closing the door / I am the only for sure,” the lyrics read. “Hold up, there shouldn’t be no hold up / There’s more love if you follow emotions / Show up, now if you down to roll up / Meet me on the west side for me.”
