Ashley Smith- Jax Taylor Was Racist and Needs To Be Fired

Today, fans of Vanderpump Rules were thrown for a shock when it was revealed that Stassi SchroederKristen DouteMax Boyens, and Brett Caprioni were fired from the show.

In a statement given to US Magazine from Bravo (the network that Vanderpump Rules airs on), they said that “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.”

The reasons for the firings had to deal with former Vanderpump Rules star Faith Stowers claiming that Stassi and Kristen had reported her falsely to the police back in 2018. Faith intimated it was racially motivated. In addition, audio of Stassi speaking about African-Americans on her Straight Up With Stassi Podcast in a manner that could certainly  (as early as on a 2017 episode) likely added to Bravo’s decision to fire her.

Prior to her firing, Stassi did issue an apology, writing, “Racially insensitive comments from my past have resurfaced. It is important that I continue to take accountability for what I have said and done while pushing myself to do better. I have grown significantly from the person I was then, and I am still filled with remorse and regret for the hurt I caused. I am grateful for the people in my life that continue to check me and push nee to evolved into a more educated person.”

“I also want to address my former castmate, Faith Stowers,” she continued. “My emotions were over something that happened between our friends outweighed my logic, and there is no excuse for that. I did not recognize then the serious ramifications that could have transpired because of my actions. What I did to Faith was wrong. I apologize and I do not expect forgiveness. I am also sorry for anyone else that feels disappointed in me. I am going to continue to look closer at myself and my actions- to take the time to listen, to learn, and to take accountability for my own privilege.”

Kristen also issued an apology prior to being fired, writing that “I have been taking some time to really process what I’ve been seeing, feeling, and learning. And I need to address something specific that happened a few years ago with my former castmate, Faith Stowers. Although my actions were not racially driven, I am now completely aware of how my privilege blinded me from the reality of law enforcement’s treatment of the black community, and how dangerous my actions could have been to her.”

“It was never my intention to add to the injustice and imbalance,” Doute added. “I’m ashamed, embarrassed, and incredibly sorry. I will do better. I have to do better.”

Max and Brett both came under fire for racist tweets that surfaced around the time the currently airing season of Vanderpump Rules began.

At last week’s part 1 of the reunion episode, Max discussed the tweets detailing that “I’m an adult now, and I cringe even thinking that I said those things. We live in a generation now where saying some things, even if you are of that culture, is just frowned upon. I just want to say I’m just really, sincerely sorry.”

Brett also addressed his racist comments noting “It wasn’t OK then, it’s not OK now. It’s something I regret deeply, and it was just kind of making jokes with each other as we’d literally be in the same room and just say stupid s**t to each other, and it was a dumb f**king thing to do. I’m doing my best to move forward and be the best person I can be.”

While no other firings based on racist remarks were announced in regards to the Vanderpump Rules cast, former 90 Day Fiance star Ashley Smith thinks there is one more cast member who needs to be reprimanded (AKA fired) for their prior remarks.

“Did y’all see bravo fired two girls for racist comments,” Ashley posted on her Instagram. “Well @bravotv don’t leave out old Jax Taylor who harassed us when our show first aired.”

She then posted the following receipt:

As you can see above, Jax commented on an Instagram post of Ashley’s saying that “Your man’s nose is the size of his head…”

We spoke exclusively with Ashley today regarding this situation and how she feels in the wake of Bravo firing four of the cast members but not Jax.

“When we began the show we faced serious race issues on national tv,” Ashley began with sharing. “Jay was super upset about it.”

She then specifically addressed the incident with Jax, detailing that “Right as the show started airing, Jax Taylor started coming at us hard. Calling me a horrible moth and then making fun of Jay and the size of his nose. It was very upsetting.”

“We didn’t even know who he was,” she continued. “This type of behavior hurts people’s feelings. Jay was hurt and couldn’t understand why a stranger would say such terrible things to someone he never met.”

Ashley then boldly stated that “Jax needs to be fired. I will not stop until he is.”

“This nonsense has got to stop” she elaborated. “We’re all human, we’re all equal, and we all have feelings.”

Ashley addressed the firings today- notably of Stassi and Kristen- stating that “Truly I have no idea what happened with the girls. I saw that they got fired and it immediately flashed back (in my mind) what Jax did.”

Ashley also clarified that she believes Jax’s comment about Jay was “100% racially motivated.”

In addition to the remark about Jay, Ashley also detailed that Jax came at her over her weight.

“He also stated that I have a FUPA,” she revealed. “Calling a woman fat basically.”

Ashley wrapped with saying that “Jax needs to be held accountable for constantly making fun of people. And the only way to hold him accountable is to fire him. If they (Bravo) are going to hold certain people accountable, then they should hold them all accountable.”

After speaking with Ashley, we noticed that in an Instagram comment she clarified to a fan why she deemed this as racist:
