Everything You Need To Know About The 2020 Billboard Music Awards: Nominees, Performers, More
By Lillie GissenNov. 2 2020, Updated 1:36 p.m. ET
The nominees for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards are finally here, and so many of our favorite stars are up for awards this year. That’s right, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Halsey, Shawn Mendes and so may more made the list of nominees, and we cannot wait to see who wins!
But wait, when is the awards show going to take place, you ask? Who else is nominated? Which celebrities are going to hit the stage to perform? Who is hosting the event? When and where will it take place and how can you watch it? Not to worry, people, because we rounded up everything you need to know. Here’s all the details we have so far about the 2020 Billboard Music Awards…
When And Where Will The 2020 Billboard Awards Take Place?
Mark your calendars, you guys, because the star-studded event will go down at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 8:00 P.M. EST. It was originally scheduled to take place April 29, 2020, in Las Vegas, but the awards show was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It turns out, this is going to be the second awards show to happen live in-person since the outbreak. As fans know, the Emmy Awards took place on Sunday, September 20, 2020, but almost all of the stars made appearances remotely from their homes rather than physically in-person. The MTV Video Music Awards happened on August 30, 2020, and that was combined virtual moments and in-person performances.
How Can You Watch The 2020 Billboard Music Awards?
They will air live on NBC, and we know we’ll be watching!
Who Is Hosting The 2020 Billboard Music Awards?
For the third year in a row, Kelly Clarkson is going to host the event.

“I’m thrilled to be back with my Billboard family,” the singer said in a statement to Billboard back in February, when she was first announced as host. “I love being part of an event that celebrates our greatest artists and entertains our fans. This is a night of music that you won’t want to miss!”
Who Is Performing At The 2020 Billboard Music Awards?
Unfortunately, the performers haven’t been announced just yet, but we hope the network shares them soon! In the past, the award show has had stars like BTS, Swift, Grande, the Jonas Brothers, Khalid, Mariah Carey, Ciara, Dua Lipa, Normani, John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato and more grace their stage, so we know whoever they choose is going to be epic.

Who Else Is Nominated For A 2020 Billboard Music Award?
The awards are based on the chart period of March 23, 2019, through March 14, 2020. The original eligibility period “will remain intact to recognize and honor the chart-topping artists and musical successes achieved and to maintain consistent tracking periods for future shows,” a press release reads, according to People Magazine.
