Black Designer and Miami-Made Swimwear Brand Elspiri Debuts in Time for Summer

When you think of cities with a vibrant nightlife and a beautiful coastline, Miami probably springs to mind.

In addition, Miami has become a cultural hub of diversity and innovation, from art and music to design and architecture. The hospitality industry is moving quickly into the South Florida city, and with it come industries that orbit around all things service and entertainment.

That includes fashion – and Miami's fashion industry is quickly becoming second to none. A new swimwear brand is debuting out of the SoFLA city, and at its helm is a Black designer who believes in inclusivity, body positivity, and self-expression – and yes, you really should know more about this extraordinary new brand. Here's what we know about Elspiri, and why you should grab one of their swimsuits for your own hot person summer.

Elpsiri Arrives in Time for Swim Season

Elspiri's website says, "When you look good, you feel good." And from that premise comes a line of sexy, sleek, resort style swimwear that is focused on inclusivity and making people feel good from the inside out.

Brought to life by Black designer Juanita Carmet, Elspiri's swimwear line embraces vibrant florals, brilliant solids and head-turning animal print patterns that evoke thoughts of faraway island getaways and paradise vacations.

The Elspiri brand wants customers to bring their inner goddess to life and feel confident, with designs that blend form and function – making them both stylish and beautiful, as well as comfortable and practical.

With Elspiri pieces, you can go from catching some sun near your poolside cabana to showing off your backstroke and feel comfortable and confident no matter where your day takes you.

The brand is debuting its swimwear with a line of bikinis and one pieces, along with matching shirt dresses and neckline dresses.

Carmet says of her creations in a statement, "Elspiri celebrates individuality and diversity with adjustability and attention to detail to let your body tell your story. Our feminine styles are designed to make you feel empowered and confident in your own skin.”

Pieces from the New Collection

One complaint all buyers of women's swimwear often share is that there's not enough support through the bust to making suits practical for anything besides sitting around.

That's not the case with Elspiri's bikinis, which include supportive and adjustable tops that boast removable cup inserts and come in four styles and seven colors. Bikini tops start at $79 and bottoms start at $77.

The team describes the styles in a statement: "The styles include: Cora, a lace front bralette with a supportive band in tones such as plumbago and fantasy floral; Athena, an over the shoulder top with tie back, available in a painted animal print and bougainvillea pink; Lyra, a versatile cross back bralette available in white, sorbet, bougainvillea and painted animal colors; and Ophelia, a triangle over the shoulder top, available in Greek blue and fantasy floral hues.

Elspiri’s bikini bottoms are available in three different styles and a range of colors, including: Thea, a high leg V-cut bottom available in bougainvillea, printed animal and fantasy floral colors; Maya, a high-waisted, high leg bottom available in plumbago and bougainvillea; and Zoe, a drawstring tie-side triangle bottom in sorbet, printed animal, Greek blue, and floral colors."

For those wanting a one piece suit, Elspiri offers two styles: lace-front, V-back Chloe; and Alexandra, a cut-out keyhole one piece adjustable tie back strings. One pieces start at $165 for solids and $172 for prints.

The team adds, "In addition to swimwear, Elspiri is launching beachwear that complements its swimsuits or can be worn on their own as casual resort wear. From solid colored shirt dresses for a classic look, to sexy off-the-shoulder crop tops, the beach attire collection has something for everyone. The brand’s beachwear will come in three styles, including: Amara, an off-the-shoulder crop top in a fantasy floral color, which can be complemented by the matching sarong skirt, the Helen; Elena, a drawstring shirt dress available in fantasy floral, black, white, and blue printed animal patterns; and Catherine, a versatile neckline dress with a removable belt that comes available in black, and terrain and blue-tone animal prints. Elspiri’s beachwear ranges from $65 for off-the-shoulder crop tops to $165 for the drawstring shirt dress."

Why Elpsiri was Born

The Elspiri brand describes itself as "inspired by the sea." Created for those whose minds wander to adventure and whose feet long to hit the road, the swimwear brand is meant to inspire travel, vacation, and a wanderlust spirit that we all need more of these days.

The pieces themselves are designed to be inclusive and practical, with adjustable elements to make sure everyone's unique body has a good and functional fit. But being functional isn't enough for a swimsuit, it also has to be beautiful – and Carmet's designs fit the bill.

Each piece is perfectly crafted to embrace the female form; whether it's a straight line or cover, an Elspiri suit will lovingly come along for the ride and leave you feel beautiful. Sizes run from small to extra large – perfect for a variety of different bodies and their individual needs.

Coming to you this Spring, Elspiri is the new swimwear brand you won't want to miss – and you'll want to bring with you on every glorious adventure this Summer.
