After TMZ’s revelation about his separation from Britney Spears, Sam Asghari wasted no time and has officially filed for divorce from his wife of 14 months, Britney Spears.
Citing the common grounds of “irreconcilable differences,” Sam is seeking spousal support and coverage for legal expenses. Yet, amidst the financial aspect, an intriguing development arises.
Sam’s attorney, Neal Hersh, is hinting at the possibility of contesting the prenuptial agreement. As previously reported by TMZ, Britney had Sam sign a prenup that designates her assets as separate property.
The documents state, “[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.”
Furthermore, they mention, “There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”
While the likelihood of the prenup being invalidated by a judge seems slim, the real focus is on an out-of-court resolution. An insider with firsthand information told TMZ that Britney is expected to write a check to Sam, effectively concluding the matter.
Sam has specified the date of separation as July 28, 2023, as confirmed by ET’s initial report on the divorce filing.
