On December 2, pop and country superstar Carrie Underwood kicked off Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency. The hotly anticipated residency was the inaugural performance for the brand-new theater at Resorts World Las Vegas, and Underwood performed before a sold-out crowd of 5,000. It was a night of beautiful singing and fun, as Underwood did what she does best and owned the stage.

Ever since the announcement that Underwood’s residency would take place this year at Resorts World Las Vegas, fans have been clamoring for a chance to fill the audience. And last night, they got a chance to watch the world superstar take the stage to belt out her biggest hits. This marks Underwood’s first ever residency, an exciting evolution on the Grammy award-winner’s life journey.

Reflection was dreamed up by Underwood as a chance to revisit – and reflect upon – the biggest hits of her 15-years-and-counting career as a chart-topping, award-winning, international sensation. Business Insider reports, “Underwood’s high-energy performance kept the opening night crowd on its feet throughout the memorable evening, which also featured her band, dancers, aerialists, a virtual orchestra, a stunning array of one-of-a-kind costumes, a breathtaking finale centered on a brilliant, never-before-seen water wall feature, and the show’s biggest highlight of all, Underwood’s voice.”

It’s a new opportunity for Underwood to set down some roots for awhile in the midst of her flurry of touring life. In a statement, the pop queen says, “It’s such a special honor to be the first artist to perform on this incredible stage in a brand new, beautiful, state-of-the-art theatre at such an exciting new destination as Resorts World Las Vegas. I’m so proud of this show and so happy to finally get to share it with the amazing audiences here in Las Vegas.” Before opening night, Underwood took fans on a tour behind the scenes as she surveyed her new home for the next few months and gave a sneak peek into her wardrobe. It was obvious the singer was enchanted, and if last night’s performance is any hint, fans have a lot to look forward to now through late May. To book tickets, visit Resorts World’s website.

Carrie Underwood’s Year

Carrie Underwood

Underwood has been busy recently. In 2020, the pop star launched fit52, a fitness app aimed at rethinking the way people approach fitness. At the time of the app’s launch, Underwood shared in a statement, “Fitness is a true passion for me. The fit52 app incorporates what I’ve been doing myself for years, and we’ve made it easy and totally accessible for anyone that wants help to work in working out. We worked really hard to create a high-quality, user-friendly app that is designed for busy people and their busy lives. fit52 meets you wherever you are on your health journey, and I’m so proud of it.”

Since then, she’s been on the go, resuming her music career after the slowdown of 2020. On November 30, Underwood released a video sharing the jubilant news that she would be performing for CMA Country Christmas. In the video, Underwood wore a stunning, sparkly black gown. House Beautiful writes, “Carrie’s exciting announcement came right before her performance with Jason Aldean at the American Music Awards where she scored big. The singer took home her 16th and 17th American Music Award which means a lot considering it’s the world’s largest fan-voted award show. This makes it her 8th win for ‘Favorite Female Country Artist’ and 1st win for ‘Favorite Inspirational Artist.’ Needless to say, Carrie’s fans really have her back.”

Also last night, Underwood took part in the lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree in New York City alongside Harry Connick Jr., Mickey Guyton, Alessia Cara, Brad Paisley and more. But in case you’re wondering, Underwood – who may be capable of a lot of things – did not figure out how to be in two places at once, her piece in the show was pre-recorded from Nashville.

Resorts World’s New Theater

We can’t talk about Reflection without talking about the theater it’s taking place in. The new Resorts World theater is state-of-the-art, a venue for 5,000 with all the bells and whistles. The Resorts World team shares in a statement, “The brand-new 5,000-capacity theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, exclusively programmed and operated by Concerts West / AEG Presents, is a state-of-the-art, multi-level venue designed by the award-winning international design firm, Scéno Plus. The intimate venue, with the furthest seat only 150 feet from the stage, features unparalleled comfort, unobstructed sightlines and an unmatched immersive audio experience through more than 200 L-Acoustics speakers powered by L-ISA hyperreal technology.”

This is the breathtaking new venue that Reflection calls home, and part of the recipe to success for Underwood’s exciting first residency. Due to popular demand, 6 new show dates were added to the end of her residency. And in a partnership with Make-a-Wish, $1 from the sale of each ticket will go to the foundation, which makes dreams come true for terminally ill children and their families. It will be a night to remember, and you can feel extra good about where your dollar goes.
