At least one or two weeks out of the year us working class folks take a break from our schedules, leave our work phones at home and celebrate the opportunity to do absolutely nothing besides worry about ourselves. (And maybe the kids if you have them) That time off can be anything from spending every hour on your couch, binging on TV shows you have yet to catch up on, to hopping on a plane that's going to a destination far from your usual stopping grounds.
For today, let's say that you're ditching the television and leaving your couch cold to go catch a flight. Where are you going? Unsure? That's okay. Get some inspiration from the top five vacation destinations that the celebs treat themselves to when they need a break as well.
1. St. Barts
Any Gossip Girl OG fan knows of St. Barts as the vacation spot of the van der Woodsen family. However, it's more than just a getaway for very wealthy fictional characters. The breathtaking island is home to 22 white-sand beaches, prestigious designer shops and very memorable restaurants. The harbor is surrounded by extravagant celebrity yachts adding the luxurious experiences of this destination.
Celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Martha Stewart and Jay-Z are no strangers to island, taking trips there often when they need a little escape from reality.
2. The French Riviera
When hearing about the French Riviera it's typical for our minds to jump to Monte Carlo's casino – the historic playground for celebrities worldwide. But, this sought-after summer getaway offers much more. Lying along the coast of Monaco, the French Riviera provides warm weather and famous beaches- almost as famous as the people who visit such as Elton John, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.
3. Maui, Hawaii
Maui is one of the six Hawaiian islands (out of eight total) that allows visitors. "Nicknamed the "Beverly Hills Island," Maui is home to an abundance of luxury resorts, particularly in the beautiful region of Wailea, along the South Shore, which is home to the Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria, amongst other high-end properties," shared by Forbes.

Dubai has been the new scene for celebrities to take a trip to. It's jaw dropping skyline is unmatched alongside it's luxury accommodations. The city's shopping district attracts tourist just as much, making it desirable to anyone with money to spend.

5. Aspen, Colorado
If islands and cities aren't your thing then maybe what you need is a getaway into the mountains. Aspen, Colorado has been a top vacation spot for the rich and the famous for years now. The winter time has been enjoyed by Mariah Carey, Kate Hudson, the Kardashians, and Will Smith, it being a popular New Years Eve spot. The nature of the area will captivate you no matter what time of year it is so, don't sleep on summers in Aspen.
