Coachella is the desert festival that everyone longs to attend.
Happening over two weekends in mid-April, Coachella has become the “who’s who” of the best of the best in Hollywood’s hottest.
And this year’s festival is no exception.
In fact, it’s become exceptionally star-studded, with a number of surprise guests elevating the first weekend to a whole new level of “it” factor.
Here are some of the top surprise acts that turned Coachella’s first weekend into the year’s “you shouldn’t have missed it.”

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie was joined by Tyga to perform “Startender” and “Rack City.”M
And while Tyga didn’t take solo center stage, he made quite a stir at this year’s Coachella.
That’s because Tyga is now dating ’90’s pop/punk/emo/alt (did we miss any?) legend, Avril Lavigne.
The two were seen cozying up together for the first time in Paris in early March.
Initially, many speculated that the pair was being seen out and about in order to drum up some publicity. But over time, it became clear that they were the real deal.

Blink 182’s original lineup was supposed to reunite for the first time when their tour kicked off in May.
But fans were thrilled to learn days before Coachella weekend 1 kicked off that the OG lineup would be reuniting on the Coachella stage instead.
The bank played mega hits like “I Miss You” and “What’s My Age Again.”
This marks the first time the band’s original lineup – including Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge – were on stage together ever since DeLonge left the band in 2015.
According to online videos, everyone at the festival flocked to the stage when Blink’s recognizable refrains were heard.
