Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Make Split Official; Unfollow Each Other on Instagram
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph have taken the next big step as a former couple; the pair recently unfollowed each

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph have taken the next big step as a former couple; the pair recently unfollowed each other on Instagram. After an early summer breakup, the former couple seems to be putting the past firmly behind themselves now.
Underwood and Randolph find love on The Bachelor…kinda
Underwood’s season of the Bachelor was full of surprising twists and turns. Not least of which when one of Underwood’s top three choices broke up with him before he could invite her to the final two.
A former contestant on The Bachelorette, the football star was looking for love when he narrowed down the field of contestants to just three. But Randolph, a frontrunner, surprised Underwood by walking away before he could offer her a spot in the top two.
This led Underwood to turning down his top two ladies instead of proposing to one, and famously leaping over a fence to chase down Randolph before she could leave.
Cassie was Touched but confused by Colton’s actions
Although Randolph was clearly touched by Underwood’s romantic overtures, the aspiring speech pathologist remained skeptical. Underwood professed his love for Randolph and suggested that he was willing to wait while she explored her feelings, but that he was eager to show his love for her. But there was a big twist that put pressure on Randolph immediately; Underwood planned to bring her directly to meet his family. When sitting down to explain to his family the situation, Underwood was honest that he didn’t feel as though Randolph loved him at that moment in time. It must have been awkward to meet the woman who broke your family member’s heart and didn’t seem overly enthusiastic about their relationship.
Randolph gave it a chance
True to her promise to Underwood, Randolph did indeed keep dating the football star after the show wrapped up. Randolph gave their love a chance, but apparently couldn’t reconcile her feelings with the strong ones Underwood evidently felt. 28-year-old Underwood and 25-year-old Randolph called it quits in May of 2020, about a year and a half after the start of their relationship.
Randolph felt the need to speak publicly about the break-up
Randolph shared her thoughts on the end of the relationship in an Instagram post, “First off, I want to say this is one of the hardest things I have had to share as neither one of us is quite ready to talk about it yet. However, because our relationship is such a public one, our silence on the matter has been speaking for us. Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives. With all that we have gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there. I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We have both learned and grown so much these past couple years, and will always have each others back. Always.”
Underwood says they’ve done ‘a lot of self-reflecting’
Underwood, too, spoke about the end of the relationship and the start of a new chapter, “Its been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting. Sometimes people are just meant to be friends – and that’s okay. We both have grown immensely and been through so much together – so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us.”
Promise to remain friends turns sour
Although the pair promised to remain in each other’s lives, tension arose when an interview on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever was selectively edited to play up drama in the relationship. Earlier in August, Underwood spoke about the state of their breakup. In a podcast called Reality Steve,Underwood seemed fond of his ex, “I have nothing but good things and love and well-wishes and friendship with Cassie right now. I love the girl and miss the girl dearly.”
The pair snips the last ties
And now, more than 3 months after their public break-up, Underwood and Randolph seem to have severed the last ties. Randolph and her entire family have unfollowed Underwood, and he returned the favor shortly after. The reason remains unclear, but rumors abound that Randolph has a new boyfriend. On the heels of the nice things Underwood said about Randolph, it probably feels like a punch in the gut to consider seeing Instagram pictures of the alleged new couple.
