Former President Donald Trump is starting to feel the pressure from the Department of Justice as they close in on the end of a year-long investigation into his handling of classified documents.
This week, lawyers from team Trump met with lawyers from the DOJ, likely in the hope that they could persuade prosecutors not to press charges against the former President, according to many legal experts.
But it seems they came away from the meeting frustrated, as Trump quickly took to Truth Social to blast the DOJ and the concept of charging him with a crime.
But things seem to be going from bad to worse.
And the former POTUS has called on his supporters to ‘FIGHT!” as the potential for a major criminal indictment looms.

On Monday, after Trump’s legal team met with DOJ lawyers, Trump took to Truth Social for an all-caps rant of fury.
He wrote, “HOW CAN DOJ POSSIBLY CHARGE ME, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, WHEN NO OTHER PRESIDENT’S WERE CHARGED, WHEN JOE BIDEN WON’T BE CHARGED FOR ANYTHING, INCLUDING THE FACT THAT HE HAS 1,850 BOXES, MUCH OF IT CLASSIFIED, AND SOME DATING BACK TO HIS SENATE DAY WHEN EVEN DEMOCRAT SENATORS ARE SHOCKED. ALSO, PRESIDENT CLINTON HAD DOCUMENTS, AND WON IN COURT. CROOKED HILLARY DELETED 33,000 EMAILS, MANY CLASSIFIED, AND WASN’T EVEN CLOSE TO BEING CHARGED! ONLY TRUMP – THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!”
But the former President wasn’t finished venting his fury.
Early Tuesday, he returned to Truth Social to call on followers to fight back against the injustices he perceives he’s at the heart of.
First, he wrote, “The Marxists and Fascists in the DOJ & FBI are going after me at a level and speed never seen before in our Country, and I did nothing wrong. Joe Biden kept (keeps) thousand of documents, in many locations, some illegally taken from skiffs while he was a Senator, a big portion of which were classified. He didn’t want to give them back, and still doesn’t. Nothing happens to him, with same reasonable prosecutor who correctly exonerated Mike Pence. I have a much different prosecutor, a Trump hater!”
Then he returned to add, “It’s all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE. They don’t want to run against me. I ran twice, I did much better the second time, getting millions and millions more votes than the first, a record for a sitting President, and am leading Biden in the polls, by a lot. They are the Party of Disinformation! They are using the DOJ & FBI against me to Rigg the 2024 Election. They’ll hit Hunter with something small to make their strike on me look ‘fair.'”
Trump wrote, “Nothing about these Fascists is fair or honest. FIGHT!”
And the former President added, “They are also going after me as RETRIBUTION for the Republicans in Congress going after them. The difference is, they have created major crimes, I have created none!”
This is far from the first time that the former POTUS has called on supporters to physically fight for him.
Although last time, they didn’t really show up – begging the question: has the MAGA leader lost his luster?
When former POTUS Trump was facing indictment in the hush money case in Manhattan, he called on his supporters to fight for him.
And they did not show up in any significant numbers. In fact, reports suggest that counter-protestors (anti-Trump) outnumbered his supporters by a wide margin.
It’s unclear if people will show up to fight for the bitterly embattled former President, but it’s clear that he feels that he’s close to hitting a wall – and possibly more criminal charges from special counsel Jack Smith.
