Singer Demi Lovato had to film their first sex scene during the production of their upcoming NBC comedy show Hungry, and it was much easier than they thought! Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, July 20, the former Disney star — who has been pretty open about their past issues with an eating disorder — shared the intimate details of what it was like for them to have to show off their body in front of so many people.

“I had a little anxiety going into it but the cast and crew were so professional and easy to work with, it calmed me down immediately,” they explained, alongside a pic of them in a bra and shorts. “Then, I thought about how proud I am for being able to feel comfortable enough in my skin to do that. I rarely ever showed my arms before… Now I’m in this! (Granted, it barely shows anything BUT STILL) I don’t always feel good in my skin, so when I do, AND I feel sexy enough to post — I do just that! It’s important to celebrate the little wins. Yay for this random burst of body confidence and yay for awkward hilarious sex.”

What Do We Know About Demi Lovato’s New Show?

According to Deadline, Hungry “follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.” Lovato will play Teddy, “a talented food stylist who wants to have a healthy relationship with food and date men who are good for Teddy — but, like so many of us, it’s a struggle.”

Besides the Camp Rock alum, Christian Magby (who fans may recognize from The Flash) has also been cast in it. He will play Jared, “the support group’s leader and creator. He is fit, positive and at ease with his body – everything everyone in this group wants to be.” Valerie Bertinelli, Anna Akana, Alex Brightman, Ashley D. Kelley, Jay Klaitz and Rory O’Malley have also joined the cast of the new series. It was written by Suzanne Martin, who will also serve as executive producer alongside Lovato. It’s unclear when it’ll come out, but filming kicked off last week.

What Else Has Demi Lovato Been Up To Lately?

Lovato, who identifies as non-binary and uses “they/them” pronouns, recently announced that they were getting their very own talk show, called The Demi Lovato Show. It will premiere on July 30, 2021, on the Roku channel. Each episode will be 10 minutes long and will reportedly “feature a special guest and cover topics including activism, feminism, gender identity, sex and body positivity, mental health and even UFOs.”

“Some conversations can be difficult, but I’ve never been one to shy away from speaking candidly about things,” Lovato said in a statement. “We wanted to create a space that normalizes living your own truth – where people can speak, engage and more importantly, learn, together. There’s something therapeutic about having raw discussions that people can relate to and with The Demi Lovato Show no topics are off limits and opinions are welcome. I’m so excited for people to see how these conversations unfold on the Roku Channel.”

As for their love life, they were recently spotted holding hands with Noah Cyrus while out and about at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, CA, but it’s unclear whether or not they’re dating or just friends. The ladies actually first sparked relationship rumors back in March 2021 when they recorded their song “Easy” together, which appeared on Lovato’s most recent album, Dancing With the Devil. At the time, they were spotted hanging out a lot and made frequent appearances on each other’s social media accounts, making people wonder if they were romantically involved. However, a source insisted to Page Six at the time that nothing was going on between them.

“They have dinner sometimes, but they’re not romantic,” an insider explained. “They got together for this song that sorta came together a bit last minute, and they hang out.”

Then, on July 5, 2021, they were photographed walking hand-in-hand as they checked out the rides in the amusement park, just hours after the brunette beauty and Miley Cyrus‘ little sister reunited and hit the stage together to perform their new song together at the YouTube Pride 2021 event. We guess we’ll have to wait and see where this relationship goes!

What Has Demi Lovato Said About Their Sexuality?

Back in March — just a few months after Lovato had called off their engagement to Max Ehrich — the former Disney star opened up about their sexuality during an interview, and they said that they identified as pansexual — which meant they were attracted to men, women and “anything” in between.

“I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off,” they admitted. “I felt a lot of shame [about my sexuality] because growing up in Texas as a Christian, that’s very frowned upon. Any attraction that I ever had toward a female at a young age, I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling.”

They also told Glamour, “When I started getting older, I started realizing how queer I really am. This past year, I was engaged to a man and when it didn’t work, I was like, ‘This is a huge sign.’ I thought I was going to spend my life with someone. Now that I wasn’t going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth.”

Then, in May, they announced that they were non-binary, writing on Instagram, “Over the past year and a half, I’ve been doing some healing and self-reflective work. And through this work, I’ve had the revelation that I identify as nonbinary. With that said, I’ll be officially changing my pronouns to they/them. This best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and am still discovering.”
