Denise Richards Leaving RHOBH- Exclusive Details

While The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is set to air the second part of its dramatic tenth season reunion

Denise Richards

While The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is set to air the second part of its dramatic tenth season reunion tonight, news has broken that Denise Richards is departing the show. As fans know, a majority of the drama this season has surrounded Richards and a rumor that Brandi Glanville allegedly slept with her. While there are still two reunion episodes to go (including tonight’s), it seems these are the last we will see of Richards on the show. So what did the announcement say?

It’s Over For Denise

According to a breaking news report from Variety, they exclusively reported that a representative for Richards has confirmed she will not be returning to the show after this season. Variety referred to it as “perhaps the most logical occurrence in the history” of The Real Housewives

While Variety notes that a spokesperson for Bravo did not respond to their request for comment, this isn’t surprising whatsoever as Bravo never comments on casting rumors. Fans will likely wonder, though, what may be the final straw that made Richards leave.

Denise Richards

Aside from her having a lot of drama with the women towards the beginning of the season over conversations Richards did not deem as appropriate for her kids, it’s likely that once the alleged affair was outed this was the final straw for Richards. When the women confronted Richards about this rumor on their trip to Rome, Richards yelled “Bravo, bravo, f—king Bravo” in what many deemed as an attempt to get Bravo to have to cut the scene, as she was breaking the fourth wall.

On the final episode of the season before ether reunion, cast member Lisa Rinna confronted Richards about what had gone down. Although Richards held steadfast to the claim that she and Richards were just acquaintances, Rinna informed her she had seen “a year of text messages” and commented she believed Richards and Glanville clearly had a friendship.

Interestingly, when Rinna asked her if it- AKA the allegations about Richards’s affair with Glanville- would go away by Richards ignoring them, Richards responded “No, there was other things that I dealt with. I don’t even want to say how it was dealt with, but- it’s being dealt with.”

Rinna responded, asking “So you sent a cease and desist?” Upon asking this, Richards visibly got angry, asking “Who told you?” Rinna then asserted that Richards wanted the footage taken out. The fact that the footage was not taken out likely led to her decision.

More To The Story About Denise Leaving

A source close to the cast told us that “there may be potentially more to the story about Denise leaving.”

“It wasn’t just Brandi that Denise sent a cease and desist letter to,” our insider continued. “She sent one to Evolution- who is the production company that produces The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“She also sent one to Bravo,” our source added.

Our insider had more to say, explaining that “In the contracts the women sign when they agree to do this show, they agree that they cannot sue cast members, the network, or production. They know that things can be edited as well. This is all part of what they’re signing up for.”

“While it may never officially come to light if Bravo actually wanted her gone,” our source explained, “it’s unlikely that a cast member would slap the network (and the production company) with a cease and desist letter only to be asked to return for the next season.”

“When Denise finally comments on the situation, it’s likely she will say she quit and that she felt forced out by the ‘mean girls’ on the show,’ our insider went on to add. “We’re not sure what she thought she was signing up for. This is a reality TV show and if you don’t want your business out there- even if it’s just rumors people hear about you, and you’re not prepared to confront them- then you’re on the wrong show.”

Brandi’s Return To RHOBH

While many fans were excited to have Glanville back on the show this season, many have been calling for her to return to the franchise for a long time in a full-time role, as she is uninhibited and unafraid to say what she feels. While Lisa Vanderpump and her were friends once-upon-a-time, that friendship turned sour and Glanville ended up exiting the show. Now that Vanderpump is gone and Richards is gone, this could be the perfect time for Glanville to potentially return full time.

What About Garcelle?

This season, newcomer Garcelle Beauvais also joined the cast. In a conversation on Sirius XM’s EW Live last month, Beauvais had claimed that she would not return to the show if Richards did not come back.

Garcelle Beauvais

“She’s like, ‘If you don’t come back, I’m not coming back,’” Beauvais stated at the time. “And I’m like, ‘And if you don’t come back, I’m not coming back.’”

If Beauvais will hold to that or if she will decide to return by herself remains to be seen.

Rumors have also begun circulating that Kris Jenner– who just announced the end of Keeping Up With The Kardashians– could possibly be joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast next year. This also remains to be seen.

Make sure to tune in tonight to the second episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at 9 PM EST and to catch Glanville finally getting to have her say (as she is not at the reunion/on the reunion episodes) on Watch What Happens Live at 10 PM EST.
