Desmond Myers

We were first introduced to Desmond Myers from Spotify’s Discover weekly. As soon as we heard this track, we knew we had to give a review to “Playing With Fire”.

On the amazing track, Myers exhibits a soothing voice that echoes through a home that looks as if it is from a time portal. His soulful voice takes you on a journey and instantly evokes a Frank Ocean like sound and vibe.

For some background on Myers, he grew up in the South and found inspiration in both the “beauty and the madness of it all.” Then, he moved to Germany and France, where he was deep into the music scene. Helping French acts correct their English lyrics, Myers rose and started working with bands by working on music and writing music for acts.

Released in early June, “Playing with Fire” is an R&B (Rhythm & Blues) song with Tame Impala vibes. It’s like a start of a relationship and the red flags that come with that. You are moving along, you know where it is ending and you are Playing with Fire. His movements play  around you like a film without sound. You are about to go down a road where you know there is no coming back. Except in this case you have Myers’s voice guiding you through.

Myers isn’t all R&B, though, as there is an electronic vibe to his voice as well. “Playing with Fire” also reminded us of The Weeknds “A Beauty Behind the Madness” as it draws you in with each chorus, reminding you of a love lost and a love found.

If you are looking to experience a new artist who is about to blow up, we highly recommend checking out Desmond Myers’s “Playing With Fire.” Make sure to check it out below and let us know your thoughts.
