The ‘Big Day’ has Arrived – Will Donald Trump be Arrested Today?

A few days ago, Donald Trump stunned the world by announcing that he would be arrested on Tuesday of this week.
He told supporters to “protest” and “take back” the country.
Since then, Trump has gone on galloping rants of rage over Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into illegal hush money, accusing everyone involved of misconduct.
But Tuesday has arrived, and some things have developed since his first announcement.
Now that the big day is here – what happens next?

Will Donald Trump Be Arrested Today?
Trump wrote on Truth Social over the weekend, “OUR NATION IS NOW THIRD WORLD & DYING. THE AMERICAN DREAM IS DEAD! THE RADICAL LEFT ANARCHISTS HAVE STOLLEN OUR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, AND WITH IT, THE HEART OF OUR OUR COUNTRY. AMERICAN PATRIOTS ARE BEING ARRESTED & HELD IN CAPTIVITY LIKE ANIMALS, WHILE CRIMINALS & LEFTIST THUGS ARE ALLOWED TO ROAM THE STREETS, KILLING & BURNING WITH NO RETRIBUTION. MILLIONS ARE FLOODING THROUGH OUR OPEN BOARDERS, MANY FROM PRISONS & MENTAL INSTITUTIONS. CRIME & INFLATION ARE DESTROYING OUR VERY WAY OF LIFE…”
He continued, “Page 2: NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”
But it’s Tuesday, so are the police gearing up to handcuff and perp walk the former POTUS?
The answer seems to be: no, for several reasons.
The grand jury is hearing one final witness before they are charged and deliberate over whether or not to issue criminal indictments. The jury meets three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for three-hour sessions in the afternoons.
So even if they wrapped up the testimony yesterday, it will likely take them at least through Wednesday and possibly Friday to deliberate. After all, indicting a former POTUS is a big deal and they’ll want to move very carefully.
Additionally, reports have come out of NYC that while law enforcement is preparing for an arrest and officers were told to be ready to deploy Tuesday, Trump’s legal team doesn’t expect movement before next week – so it would seem that the powers that be expect a longer timeline than Trump suggested.
However, anything is possible.
Any time after the jury hears the final witness, the indictments could come quickly. That could mean any time between now and the end of the week – but given the time constraints of the jury’s meetings, it seems like next week is a safe bet given the signs the DA’s office has been making.
Some suspect, however, that it’s a distraction – while Trump’s team has to know when he’ll be indicted if it happens, the system benefits from keeping the exact “when” a secret from the public to avoid violent protests.
What Happened to All the Protestors?

The question of course is – where are all the protestors?
Donald Trump told his supporters to show up and protest – today.
And yet, very few protests have materialized.
The reasons are layered.
First of all, it seems that his supporters are wiser to the process than he is – many are skeptical about his timeline, given the fact that the grand jury heard a witness as recently as yesterday.
Additionally, many are wary of being caught up in another January 6-like event and being arrested for their part in it, with some saying this is likely a “trap.”
And it may simply come down to the fact that few enough people care. Picking up their lives and risking their livelihoods to protest his arrest seems like a high risk for a low stakes event, compared to how they viewed January 6, 2021.
That’s not to say people won’t protest when he’s arrested, if he’s arrested.
And it may even turn violent.
But for now, Trump’s supporters seem unmotivated and uninterested in throwing themselves under the bus for him alone. When they believed the country was at stake, that was one thing – but Trump alone? It’s a much harder sell.
The fact that his arrest – again, if he’s arrested – could come at any point over the next week makes it a nail-biting, nerve-wracking time for Trump and supporters alike.
Trump seems to believe the newest witness, who was a legal counsel for his former lawyer and bombshell witness Michael Cohen, exonerates him – but he’s likely wrong. Cohen was put on notice to be available when the newest witness testified.
If he had been needed to clarify or refute anything, they would have called him in. But they didn’t. So it’s very likely that the new testimony changes nothing, or nothing substantial.
The country is facing a very uncertain next few days as they grapple with a situation they’ve never faced before: the arrest of a former POTUS on criminal charges.
New reports from a source in Georgia also suggest that Fulton County DA Fani T. Willis is considering adding racketeering and conspiracy charges to their investigation into election interference. It’s unclear if those charges would apply to Trump or his cohorts – but it’s another sign that things in Trump world are getting very serious, very quickly.
