While most people were decking the halls and gathering around the tree with family or celebrating their various religious or secular traditions, former President Donald Trump was on Truth Social airing his Festivus grievances.

Trump chose to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, even the haters, but then proceeded to spend the next two days ranting about how bad things are.

It’s no surprise, given the legal peril the former POTUS is facing, but it was far from the behavior one expects from someone who’s confident in their position.

Trump is hoping to project the air of a leader in control and prepared for a protracted 2024 battle – but instead, he already seems unbalanced, exhausted, and angry.

Donald Trump Christmas Rant Raises Eyebrows

While most politicians (and Americans) were focusing on releasing either politically correct statements or intentionally not politically correct statements, Trump was doing what he always does and letting people know just how upset he is about the state of things.

Trump took to Truth on Christmas Day to write, “Merry Christmas to EVERYONE, including the Radical Left Marxists that are trying to destroy our Country, the Federal Bureau of Investigation that is illegally coercing & paying Social and LameStream Media to push for a mentally disabled Democrat over the Brilliant, Clairvoyant, and USA LOVING Donald J. Trump, and, of course, The Department of Injustice, which appointed a Special ‘Prosecutor’ who, together with his wife and family, HATES ‘Trump’ more than any other person on earth. LOVE TO ALL!”

People were immediately struck by the FPOTUS’s assertion that he’s “clairvoyant.”

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, clairvoyant means, “a person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact.”

It’s a bizarre thing for Trump to call himself after he’s been building a legal defense for January 6 around the concept that he could not have predicted how his followers would react to his statements.

Trump Rants March Onward to the New Year

While Trump has continued his litany of grievances as usual thinking it appeals to his followers, he may be doing his image grave damage.

Trump’s most diehard followers will always be ready and willing to signal boost a good Trump complaint, because they agree wholeheartedly with his take on “Marxist Leftists” and “liberal fake news media.”

However, swing voters and less enthusiastic Republican voters are turning away en masse as the former POTUS becomes less of a leader and more of a professional complainer.

Trump addressed accusations that he’s been taking it easy on the campaign trail lately, writing on Truth, “So funny to read and hear the Fake News political pundits saying that ‘Trump isn’t working too hard on his campaign. This is not a good sign, maybe he’s giving up (even though I’m leading BIG in the Polls!). What they don’t say is that, ‘WE HAVE ALMOST TWO YEARS TO GO.’ The Rallies will be bigger and better than ever (because our Country is going to Hell), but it’s a little bit early, don’t you think?”

One could certainly make the argument that it’s early – but then again, that was the argument that political strategists made when Trump announced his candidacy for 2024 back in November.

Trump’s strategy is becoming less cohesive and more chaotic as the months go by, and as 2024 begins to loom on the far horizon.

The past few days have marked the FPOTUS taking pot shots at Mitch McConnell, Democrats who are destroying the nation, and attempting to stir fear and anger among supporters.

Trump even took a moment to mock a reporter’s appearance, writing, “The Fake & Corrupt News is only getting worse! As an example, I agreed to do a short telephone interview for a once very good, but now on its ‘last legs’ and failing, New York Magazine. The reporter was a shaky & unattractive wack job, known as ‘tough’ but dumb as a rock, who actually wrote a decent story about me a long time ago. Her name, Olivia Nuzzi. Anyway, the story was Fake News, her ‘anonymous sources’ don’t exist (true with many writers), and I’m happily fighting hard for our GREAT USA!”

While Trump’s doom and gloom and grievances 101 strategy worked in 2016, it remains to be seen if a controversy-weary electorate will opt for a repeat in 2024.
