‘The People Have Spoken’: Donald Trump Crows Over Cheney Loss but One Key Witness May Drop a Bombshell on J6 Committee

Yesterday, Wyoming Representative and January 6 co-chair Liz Cheney suffered a devastating primary defeat. Her Trump-backed opponent won easily, walking away with the district Cheney has held since 2017.
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to crow about her loss but has remained silent this morning as rumors of another January 6 witness sets the political sphere afire.

Donald Trump Crows Over Liz Cheney Primary Defeat
According to Trump, the mainstream media aka "Fake News" is spinning Cheney's loss as "no big deal." You'd be forgiven for missing that spin since most outlets are presenting it as exactly what it is – a referendum on Republicans who turn against Trump.
But Trump couldn't pass up the opportunity to take to his social media platform Truth Social and crow about the primary win, writing, "Liz Cheney’s uninspiring concession speech, in front of a 'tiny' crowd in the Great State of Wyoming, focused on her belief that the 2020 Presidential Election was not, despite massive and conclusive evidence to the contrary, Rigged & Stolen. It was, and that’s not even counting the fact that many election changes, in numerous States, were not approved by State Legislatures, an absolute must. Liz Cheney is a fool who played right into the hands of those who want to destroy our Country!"
Late last night, Trump added, "I assume that with the very big Liz Cheney loss, far bigger than had ever been anticipated, the January 6th Committee of political Hacks and Thugs will quickly begin the beautiful process of DISSOLUTION? This was a referendum on the never-ending Witch Hunt. The people have spoken!"
Cheney was the last remaining high-profile Republican who opposed Trump in the wake of January 6. But just because she's out as Wyoming's Representative doesn't mean she's gone for good – Cheney has plans for her political future.
Liz Cheney to Found Anti-Trump Organization
Trump may wish Cheney and the January 6 committee would fade into memory, but they are not being so accommodating.
Cheney has shared that she is mulling a possible 2024 presidential run. It's an interesting proposition for a Republican who couldn't even hold her own primary. However, she would be a popular choice among moderate Republicans and Independents who aren't overly enthused about the Democrats' time in power but would not like to see a Trump 2.0.
Cheney could well present the best chance for anti-Trump Democrats and Republicans to wrest the party away from the cult of MAGA. If not her or Trump, the 2024 nomination will surely go to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who shares much in common with Trump but with a greater understanding of the law – and more skill at working around it.
Cheney has also suggested she may launch an anti-Trump organization now that she'll have more free time.
Mike Pence to ‘Consider’ Testifying for January 6 Committee If Asked
But all of this information and Cheney's possible 2024 run pales in comparison to news today from former Vice President Mike Pence.
Pence revealed today that he would "consider" testifying before the January 6 committee if they were to extend the invitation, which they are likely to do now that he's open to the idea.
Pence has hesitated to commit to testifying because of the weight and magnitude of a Vice President testifying before a House committee as to the actions of his own President, but Pence has long shown that his care for the rule of law supersedes his loyalty to Trump.
If Pence agrees to testify, the information he drops could contain bombshells that could decisively sway the course of the January 6 committee investigations. Pence has ample reason to consider testifying, including the fact that he was the gleeful target of Trump supporters who chanted, "hang Mike Pence" and the former President himself opted not to intervene or cool things off even as the mob tried to chase down his former running mate.
In addition, Pence running for President in 2024 faces a far more favorable field if the January 6 committee uncovers enough for the Department of Justice to leverage criminal indictments against Trump – so it's a weighty decision the VP is considering. However, because of his appreciation for the rule of law, Pence may hesitate to jump in and turn political norms on their ends.
