Donald Trump’s Florida home was decorated to the nines for New Year’s Eve. The guest list was elite, the music was loud, and the evening was supposed to be another flawless show of Trump’s power and prestige.
But things didn’t exactly go as planned.
Because Trump and his cohorts invited the media to cover the event – and they largely declined.
From Rudy Giuliani’s weird “drunk” video post to Trump’s doom-and-gloom New Year’s wish, the evening was more than a little disappointing.
And Trump took to Truth on New Year’s to air out his frustrations, snapping at his enemies.

On Christmas, former POTUS Donald Trump made the questionable choice of turning a day of peace and goodwill into another chance to pick at his political enemies.
New Year’s was no different.
As New Year’s Eve dawned and no cable networks appeared to signal boost his thoughts, Trump took to Truth and wrote, “HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of the Radical Left Democrats, Marxist Lunatics, China loving Coco Chow and her Obedient Husband, Mitch, and Clueless RINOS, who are working so hard to DESTROY our once great Country.”
He added, “More importantly, HAPPY NEW YEAR to the Incredible, Brave, and Strong American Patriots who Built, Love, and Cherish America. The REAL leaders of our Country will always remain FAITHFUL and LOYAL to you. The USA will be back, Bigger & Better & Stronger than ever before. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!”
Trump then tried once again to deflect blame from the Republican’s disastrous showing in the midterms. It’s an interesting strategy, because Trump is both saying that the midterms weren’t a major loss (because his endorsed candidates did well) while at the same time saying that the Republican disaster isn’t his fault.
On Truth Sunday, Trump wrote, “It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the MidTerms. I was 233-20! It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters. Also, the people that pushed so hard, for decades, against abortion, got their wish from the U.S. Supreme Court, & just plain disappeared, not to be seen again. Plus, Mitch stupid $’s!”
And of course, if anyone thought Trump would leave his January 6 grievances in 2022 was sorely disappointed. They made a quick appearance in the new year as well, with Trump writing, “The REAL Insurrection is what’s going on at our Souther Border. Criminals and Drugs are pouring into our Country at levels never seen, or even thought of, before. Our Country is being poisoned to death. The Democrats know it, and the RINOS refuse to do anything about it. It is a great Human, and American, TRAGEDY. God Bless the USA!!!”

It’s understandable that Trump is a little frustrated, however.
The former POTUS hosted a New Year’s Eve party at his Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, and hoped that it would project an air of elegance and control.
Unfortunately, no cable news networks wanted to cover it – declining his invitations and opting to keep the focus on more positive celebrations elsewhere. Print publications and smaller outlets did cover the event, but it wasn’t enough to soothe Trump’s bruised ego.
Trump also took the opportunity on New Year’s Eve to revisit his favorite complaints, blasting the border and inflation, instead of offering hope and promise for a better 2023.
But it was an evening dominated by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who tweeted a bizarre video of himself trying to speak over a cover band’s loud rendition of “Footloose.”
The video showed people dancing awkwardly to the song as Giuliani dropped some wisdom which no one could hear.
Insider writes, “Former President Donald Trump’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago featured Trump complaining about Southwest cancelling its flights, a media conference that no major news stations — including Fox or NewsMax — covered, and a video of Rudy Giuliani ringing in the New Year — though no one can hear him.
In a video posted to Twitter with the caption ‘Mar-a-Lago 2023 New Year headed right to 2024!’ Giuliani can be heard saying ‘Here we are at Mar-a-Lago…’ before a live band starts performing a cover of ‘Footloose’ by Kenny Loggins so loudly that nothing that Giuliani says is remotely audible.
Giuliani did not appear to notice and posted the video as people danced around him and photobombed the camera.”
Giuliani immediately became a meme over his “2023 headed right to 2024” comment, with the internet happy to point out that it was still 2022 when he made the post.
All in all, it was a bizarre and underwhelming evening – and Trump is clearly feeling the sting.
