Donald Trump’s Mother’s Day Message Snubs Melania Amid Rumors of Relationship Woes

On Mother’s Day, there are two people you should always remember to wish well: your own mother (if you can), and the mother if your children (if that applies) – but not Donald Trump.
The former POTUS wrote a bizarre and combative Mother’s Day message on Truth Social, and he completely forgot both his own dearly departed mother, and the mother of his youngest son.
Instead, Trump lashed out at his enemies – turning yet another holiday into a chance for a litany of complaints.

It’s hard to say what happened behind closed doors for Mother’s Day – perhaps Trump celebrated Melania, his current wife and mother to his youngest son, Barron.
But then again, perhaps not.
Rumors have plagued the couple for years that they were on the verge of divorce, and so far they’ve managed to weather every storm. However, that could be as much about politics as any enduring love between the two.
Trump has already faced criticism for being divorced multiple times, and when he offered himself up as the frontrunner of the “family values” Republican party, it was clear that he needed to stay in a stable marriage – at least for now.
It’s always possible, of course, that the two are deeply in love. Melania has stood by him through ups, downs, and allegations of affairs and sexual assault.
But can she endure a Mother’s Day snub?
Trump took to Truth Social to write a message for the holiday, as is expected of most public figures.
He wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country. Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
You would expect him to follow it up with a message for Melania – but there was nothing.
Trump’s snub of Melania comes as the couple faces renewed speculation that they’re on the rocks.
Ever since Trump announced his plans to run again in 2024, Melania has been conspicuously absent in public circles. While her press agents have reaffirmed her support for her husband, she continues to elude public scrutiny.
This isn’t the only time Trump has taken advantage of a holiday to blast rivals rather than thank those dearest to him – he did it last Mother’s Day too, and over the Christmas holiday.
Last Mother’s Day, Trump wrote on social media, “Happy Mother’s Day to all, including Racist, Vicious, Highly Partisan, Politically Motivated, and Very Unfair Radical Left Democrat Judges.”
And over Christmas, Trump sent seasons well wishes to “EVERYONE,” including (apparently not limited to), “Radical Left Marxists that are trying to destroy our Country, the Federal Bureau of Investigation that is illegally coercing & paying Social and LameStream Media.”
Trump’s greatest rival for the 2024 Republican nomination, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, by contrast wrote, “Madison, Mason and Mamie are lucky to have the best mother in the world -@CaseyDeSantis. Thank you for all that you do for our family, we love you very much!”

Over the weekend, Trump was also criticized for canceling a rally in Iowa at the last minute.
Trump’s team cited weather concerns, and Trump told people to “seek shelter” as dangerous storms rolled in.
But DeSantis was also hosting a rally – one he did not postpone – and one which ended with no one endangered.
There is speculation among political strategists that Trump was expecting a smaller audience than DeSantis, and it would have been an untenable blow to his ego.

Whatever Trump’s real motives for canceling in Iowa this weekend, it gave DeSantis a chance to take a much-needed victory lap after weeks of slipping in the polls against the former POTUS.
The two seem to be squaring up for a nasty head-to-head which will likely kick into high gear when DeSantis makes the expected impending announcement that he’s throwing his hat into the ring for 2024.
