‘Then Come the Nukes’: Donald Trump Rants Furiously on Truth Social About Nukes, Tanks and Television

To Donald Trump, winning a legal battle is about swaying public opinion.

If he can convince people that his intentions were good, Trump believes he has a good chance at doing the same with a judge or jury.

And there’s good reason for that confidence.

Trump has long worn the moniker “Teflon Don” because lawsuits brought against him just don’t seem to stick.

But the country is well through the looking glass when it comes to Trump’s alleged criminal and inappropriate behavior, so he’s facing a caliber of legal troubles he’s completely unprepared for.

Donald Trump took to Truth Social this morning in another insomniac rant, and this time it went nuclear.

Donald Trump Takes on Big Tech

It’s no mistake that Trump has been very active on Truth Social.

After all, yesterday tech giant Meta reinstated Trump’s account on Facebook and Instagram.

But instead of rushing back to the platforms he was kicked off from for inciting violence during the January 6 insurrection attempt at the Capitol, Trump took to Truth to air his disdain.

Trump wrote, “FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since ‘deplatforming’ your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account. Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution! THANK YOU TO TRUTH SOCIAL FOR DOING SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB. YOUR GROWTH IS OUTSTANDING, AND FUTURE UNLIMITED!!!”

It should be noted that Trump is right about Meta losing billions of dollars, but wrong about the reason. Meta’s value tanking has more to do with CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg making a series of disastrous investments in a virtual reality system than it has to do with Trump.

But that doesn’t stop Trump from acting as though it’s all due to his deplatforming in 2021.

Trump also has said in recent months that he won’t return to Twitter or Facebook, because he prefers Truth – but the truth behind that statement is a lot more complicated than he’s making it out to be.

Trump signed an exclusive contract with Truth Social for 18 months (starting in 2021) that requires him to post first on Truth Social and wait 6 hours before posting on any other social media platform.

That makes any posts on Twitter or Facebook completely irrelevant by the time he would add them. However, that contract expires this summer and Trump has told advisors that he won’t be renewing it.

So while Trump talks a big game now, it’s likely that users will see him return to the other social media platforms (at least in a copy/paste from Truth form) by July.

And Meta wasn’t the only tech company who received the former President’s ire over the past 24 hours.

News broke that DirecTV would be cutting ties with Trump’s stalwarts at Newsmax, removing the channel from their lineup.

They did something similar to OAN, another Trump loyalist group, last year. GOP politicians are pushing hard to keep DirecTV from dropping the conservative network, citing a need for viewers to have access to a fair and broad range of news outlets.

However, it’s unclear if they can leverage any power over the company, or just continue to scream into the void as they lose yet another major access point to their voters.

Trump was furious at the news, writing on Truth, “WOW. AT&T DIRECTV REMOVES NEWSMAX FROM ITS CHANNEL LINEUP. This disgusting move comes after ‘deplatforming’ OAN last year. The Radical Left seems to have taken over the mind and soul of AT&T. This is a big blow to the Republican Party, and to America itself. For DIRECTV to drop very popular NEWSMAX, without explanation, will not be accepted. I, for one, will be dropping all association with AT&T and DIRECTV, and I have plenty. This is just one of many reasons why we must WIN IN 2024!!!”

And Donald Trump wasn’t only focused on big tech.

Donald Trump Then Turns to Nukes and Tanks

Donald Trump blasts President Joe Biden’s administration for their handling of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The former President is facing a whirlwind of troubles across the country in a variety of arenas – both criminal and civil – and it looks like charges could be imminent from at least one of those.

The Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hinted this week that criminal charges would be coming soon, and Donald Trump and his cohorts are likely at the center of those charges.

Trump’s anxieties have been on full display all week as he’s gone on several 2AM posting sprees, and continues posting at all hours of the day about a variety of topics that appear to be non-sequiturs; evidence of an exhausted and frantic mind.

But this morning took a strange turn, as Trump seemed to be watching news coverage from somewhere – likely Fox – and wanted to weigh in at 5AM on Truth.

Without any explanation, the former POTUS wrote early Thursday, “FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES. Get this crazy war ended, NOW. So easy to do!”

It’s understood that he’s referring to the war between Ukraine and Russia which started when Russia invaded the sovereign nation early last year.

But it’s unclear what Trump believes is the solution – except, perhaps, restoring him to office.
Donald Trump has a famously personable and friendly relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and has said several times over the past year that he would have been able to prevent the invasion of Ukraine.

Why he believes that to be true remains to be seen – but if Trump is elected in 2024, he’ll have a chance to show that he can put his money where his mouth is and fix the ongoing conflict, if it isn’t over by then.
