Donald Trump Returns to Instagram – for the Weirdest Reason

Donald Trump returned to Instagram out of the blue on Tuesday, leading many users to thing that he was hacked. But he was back for a specific reason, and it was a weird one.

Donald Trump has returned to Instagram.

Prior to yesterday, the last time he posted on the social media platform, which is owned by Meta, was on January 5, 2021.

That’s one day before the infamous attempted insurrection at the Capitol.

But now, Trump is back, and for the weirdest reason possible.

Donald Trump’s Return to Instagram

The former POTUS has returned to Instagram for the purpose of selling NFTs. Again.

This time, Trump dropped the surprise cache with no warning on social media.

The first post came with a stylized image of Trump holding the Liberty Bell, captioned, “I am pleased to inform you that, due to the great success of my previously launched DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we are doing it again, SERIES 2, AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW. GO TO link in bio: https://collecttrumpcards.com/. Have fun!”

People were understandably a little confused.

The next post was an image of Trump as a superhero, captioned, “I hope everyone notices, & I’m sure the Fake News won’t, that I’m leaving the price of the Trading Cards the same as last time, even though they are selling for MANY TIMES MORE (It’s called the MARKET!), & sold out almost immediately, because I want my fans & supporters to make money, & have fun doing it. I could have raised the price MUCH HIGHER, & I believe it still would have sold well, with a lot more money coming to me, but I didn’t choose to do so. I WILL BE GIVEN NO ‘NICE GUY’ CREDIT?”

In a video post which followed, Trump explained that the trading cards were back due to apparent high demand. And the new batch includes Trump as a superhero, monster truck driver, and more.

People Think Donald Trump is Hacked on Instagram

The final series of new posts came late yesterday. It was an image of Trump as an ’80’s-style rock star, with the caption, “As of 10 minutes ago, my Digital Trading Cards SOLD OUT, in RECORD TIME, approximately $4.6 Million. A great honor, and I hope everyone is Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy. CONGRATULATIONS!”

But people were still really, really confused.

Several users suggested that Trump must be hacked, and others said it was fishy that he would return from silence to drop the NFTs with no other mention.

But other users pointed out that he had also posted about the NFTs on Truth Social, verifying that it was in fact his new project.

It was a bizarre turn in the world of Trump news, but not entirely unexpected.

After all, Trump’s legal fees are racking up by the minute. And with more and more investigations winding to a close with targets all painted on Trump, it makes sense that he’d need more money.
