Former President Donald Trump sat down on Fox News for his first appearance on the network since September.

The former POTUS’s hope was to speak with host Sean Hannity about a variety of hot button topics, such as the investigation into illegally paid hush money, his alleged mishandling of classified documents, and other issues like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

But the former POTUS found himself on his heels defending himself about a post he made on Truth Social, one even his lawyer is distancing himself from.

A post that Trump has since had to delete because it the optics were so bad.

Donald Trump Threatens Alvin Bragg?

A week and a half ago, Trump told supporters that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office would be issuing an indictment and arresting him over hush money payment he allegedly made to pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels the month before the 2016 election.

He gave the timeline as Tuesday of last week.

Obviously, that never happened.

Now, the indictment could be looming for real this time, and Trump has been going back and forth between screaming rage and measured pleas on Truth Social.

One post that he shared, however, has garnered a lot of attention and concern.

Bragg has been blasted by Trump as “corrupt”, with the former President even calling him an “animal.” Bragg’s office has received dozens of threats from others, including one death threat that came with a white powder that turned out to be innocuous.

Amid all of this, Trump continues to put Bragg in the crosshairs of his rage, whipping his followers into a frenzy of fury

He shared one post that came from an article discussing why Trump was innocent, and the headline image was a split-screen of Trump holding a baseball bat, facing an image of DA Bragg.

The optics were instantly terrible, and even Trump’s lawyer couldn’t explain the post in a satisfactory way.

Trump’s Lawyer Defers to Trump, Who Tries to Blame Others

NBC News reports, “‘I’m not his social media consultant,’ Joe Tacopina said in an interview on NBC News’ ‘Meet the Press’ when host Chuck Todd pressed him about whether he would advise a client to attack a prosecutor personally. ‘I think that was an ill-advised post that one of his social media people put up and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric and the photo that was attached to it.’

Todd responded: ‘You’re referring to the baseball bat thing, which, of course, was featured in the New York Post cover. New York Post thought it was a pretty, pretty rough hit.'”

And Trump himself explained on Hannity that he isn’t the one who did it.

Hannity said, “You talked about death and destruction. The baseball bat picture next to Alvin Bragg, and you did take that down. And my only question, why open yourself to criticism?”

Trump responded, “You have to understand that when the story was put up, I put up a story, we didn’t see pictures. We put up a story that was very exculpatory, very good story from the standpoint of what we’re talking about. And they put up a picture of me. And you know where I was holding the baseball bat? It was at the White House. ‘Make America, buy America’ because I did a lot of ‘Buy America’ things, and this was a company that makes baseball bats. Then they put next to that picture a picture of Alvin Bragg. I didn’t do it, they did it.”

Nonetheless, the post stayed up for some time after it went up – so at least someone on Trump’s team had to see it and decide it was fine. Until the public backlash started, anyway.

There’s still no sure timeline from Bragg’s office, but an indictment could come as soon as the middle of this week – if he chooses to indict.
