Donald Trump has been doing his best to make himself look like the conservative darling ahead of the 2024 election.

But he took some time out from blasting his rivals late Monday to drop another ominous warning – this time, that World War III could be on the horizon.

Trump loves to drop threats and warnings and stir up the fears of his voters.

But could he be right this time?

Donald Trump Warns of WWIII

Donald Trump warns of World War 3

Trump spends most of his time these days trashing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and 2024 rival Nikki Haley.

While he pretends not to care or feel threatened by either of them, a huge portion of his Truth Social feed is taken up by efforts to make them seem less desirable to Republican voters.

But Trump took a swing at President Joe Biden late Monday that came with a warning.

The former POTUS wrote on Truth, “If you watch and understand the moves being made by Biden on Ukraine, he is systematically, but perhaps unknowingly, pushing us into what could soon be WORLD WAR III. How crazy is that?”

Trump was referring to a surprise decision made by the President to make a secret trip to the Ukraine revealed to the public only once he was actually on the ground.

The New York Times reports, “In an audacious move meant to demonstrate American resolve to help Ukraine defeat the Russian forces that invaded a year ago this week, Mr. Biden traveled covertly to Kyiv to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and promise even more weapons for the country’s defenders. The visit produced an indelible image of the two presidents striding to a memorial for fallen soldiers in broad daylight even as an air-raid siren blared, a show of defiance of Moscow quickly beamed around the world.

‘I thought it was critical that there not be any doubt, none whatsoever, about U.S. support for Ukraine in the war,’ Mr. Biden said during his five hours on the ground in Kyiv before leaving again. He was speaking, in effect, not just to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia but to fellow Americans back home doubting his decision to invest so deeply in Ukraine’s war. ‘It’s not just about freedom in Ukraine,’ he said. ‘It’s about freedom of democracy at large.’”

Biden’s visit to Ukraine took him through occupied lands on a meandering 9-hour train ride, marking the first time in several generations that a US President has traveled to an area not under control of American forces.

Republicans immediately blasted the move, saying that Biden has yet to spend time on the ground near East Palestine, Ohio, where a train derailed and spilled toxic chemicals into the countryside, leaving locals frightened and dealing with uncertainty.

Other critics say that it was a thumb in the eye of Russian President Vladimir Putin, certain to enrage him.

Does Biden’s Visit to Ukraine Mean WWIII or is Donald Trump Stirring Up Fear?

And the latter have a point: it was a stark rebuke of Putin for the US President to put his own boots on the ground in dangerous territory to show solidarity with Ukraine.

All of this theater comes as the one-year anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion approaches, and Russian aggression begins to turn to desparation.

So does Biden’s presence in Ukraine spell a looming disaster for the world in the form of another world war?

Possibly – Putin could certainly feel insulted and threatened enough to take his beef global after Biden’s gesture.

But on the other hand, the fact that Russia has not won its invasion war against much smaller Ukraine yet is due to two main reasons: unexpectedly stiff resistance, and international aid.

Can a country failing to take over a small neighboring country afford to start a war on all sides? This isn’t like the years leading into WWII when Germany was at the height of its power and winning skirmish after skirmish, after all.

Russia is relatively weakened and frustrated.

But that doesn’t mean that the Russian leadership will act sensibly.

For once, Trump’s warning of WWIII could be based on reality, although for now the smart bet is still against that happening.

Whatever comes next, it’s clear that Biden and his team of security experts believed that the gesture was important enough to risk Putin’s wrath, which means that there’s likely much more at play than the American people know.
