If you think you’ve seen it all, Matty Matheson and Benny Blanco will tell you otherwise. Or should we say… show you otherwise. In their show Matty and Benny Eat Out America the acclaimed chef and Grammy-winning artist are joined by their famous friends to create “the greatest food show of all time!!!” according to Benny Blanco’s Instagram at least. The eclectic duo launched the show on Benny’s YouTube channel in March 2020. Season one struck viewers with eight episodes and appearances from Kenny Beats, Lil Dicky, Laird Hamilton, Diplo, Kehlani, Zach Choi, and Mason Ramsey. Who, might we add, ate sushi for the first time off of basketballs in a shooting competition with the two hosts. And yes, it was a puke show.
Like most great loves now days, Matty and Benny’s great connection unfolded in their DM’s. The pair met at the Toronto restaurant Parts and Labour. Benny was eating and Matty was the executive chef at the time. After immediately hitting it off, the New York Times best-selling cookbook author messaged the award winning producer on Instagram with the title of their [fictional] show which has now been brought to life. Their undeniable compatibility has made the show such a hit that they came back for a second season to premier on October 11th, 2021. In a previous press release Matty shared, “This is the greatest food show I’ve ever made and I’ve made a lot of great food shows. So that means this one is the greatest.”
Who Even Are These Guys, You Ask?
Well, Matty Matheson is only one of the world’s most exciting chefs to follow. His position as executive chef at Parts and Labour was only the beginning for him. He went on to become a regular on Vice’s Munchies which evoked his own cooking show in the form of Viceland’s It’s Supertime and Dead Set On Life. In 2018, the popular chef released his cookbook Matty Matheson: A Cookbook which became a New York Times best-seller and landed him cooking demonstrations on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night With Seth Meyers. And he hasn’t stopped. He made the best of the 2020 year by releasing another New York Times best-seller, Homestyle Cookery and also opened two new resturant concepts: Fort Erie-based BBQ, Matty Matheson’s Meat + Three and Matty’s Burger Joint.
Benny Blanco is an award-winning everything- artist, record producer, songwriter and musician. His hard work and talent has achieved hundred of millions of album sales worldwide. He has worked with major names in music such as Juice WRLD, Ty Dolla Sign, Marshmello, Vance Joy, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Kaney West. Must we say more? The list continues on with Halsey and Khalid creating the global smash hit “Eastside” which is featured on his Platinum-certified album FRIENDS KEEP SECRETS. Blanco is also the founder of two labels in collaboration with Interscope Records: Mad Love Record and Friends Keep Secrets.
Eat Out America, Again
On October 11th, Blanco and Matheson will return to YouTube with eight weekly episodes for Season 2 of their glorified cooking show. They pair will be accompanied by Eric Andre, Lil Dicky, Addison Rae, Finneas, GaTa, Mia Khalifa, Sean Evans, Andrew Callaghan and others.
Matty shared in a press release, “I can’t believe we made another show that is literally the greatest culinary show of all time.” He continued, “Anyone making food content right now should be scared. We’re the f–king best. Season f–king two should f–king framed and hung next to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. You’re welcome. Suck it up.” Benny followed up with a few less words “I can’t believe they let us make another season of this show. We love you.”
The Season 2 trailer of Matty and Benny Eat Out America discloses clips of the Interscope Records produced show which include a shock collar, toe biting, a giant man baby and much more. You can watch all of Season 1 on Benny’s YouTube channel and stay up to date on the release of their new episodes with Instagram.
