The Tokyo-based electronic dance songwriter and producer burst into the scene with her debut album last year. Going straight back into the studio, making use of the time without touring, it seems the follow up is around the corner.

Hitting it Big

Amalia Kadis

Amalia Kadis was a bit of an unknown name before she dropped her single “Goodbye”, featuring prestigious electronic producer REDD, gaining her thousands of fans. Unusual for EDM artists, Kadis didn’t get the chance to follow up her first hit with excessive touring and live events. The restrictions of the global pandemic hit at the same time Kadis and her entourage were supposed to leave for a world wide series of gigs. Turning adversity into her favour, the singer went straight into the studios to write and record a large range of songs.

It came to the surprise of only a few that, by the end of summer, Kadis had a long player ready to be introduced to her fanbase. A group of supporters, particularly in Asia, that had grown very keen on the newcomer.

The light hearted full body of work gave EDM fans the summer vibes so many were missing out on in the last months. Three singles with sleek music videos surely played in her favour, with fans in awe over the ‘full
package’-artist.

Ready To Take It Further

Amalia Kadis

Less than a year on, it seems that Kadis is ready to show that her debut was everything but a one off success. The 2nd album is heavily rumoured to be in the making, and has now been confirmed. Neither a name or date were communicated by the artist or her management, but when asked whether her next album would be released this year, Kadis replied ‘definitely’, announcing that she had taking things up a notch as well. We’re expecting the first single release soon, hopefully with another strong set of visuals to go
with it.

The music industry has been hit particularly heavy by world wide restrictions and the shutting down of all venues and events. For the electronic dance music scene, festivals, gigs and raves are absolutely essential, build the foundation of careers. For an artist to release their second body of work before getting the chance to tour the first one, is beyond exceptional.

We are hoping strongly for everyone that this summer, touring and long summer nights of dancing will return to our lives. Amalia Kadis will surely be one of the first to get in the tour bus and meet her fans.
