It’s an Electric Daisy Carnival extravaganza all over Las Vegas this weekend. From Wynn to Resorts World, Élia Beach Club and everything in between, EDC is hitting Sin City with a weekend of fun, music, and joy. It was touch and go for awhile earlier this year as organizers struggled to bring the desert city music festival to life because of the limits of pandemic restriction, but it’s finally come today and the weekend has arrived. Although the main event is going down at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there are dozens of other places guests can gather to see the biggest artists who have come together to make the world’s favorite music festival launch like a dream.

EDC Weekend Fun

It’s all hands on deck in Vegas this weekend. Pandemic restrictions made it impossible to gather the nearly 500k visitors together in one place to enjoy EDC, so organizer Pasquale Rotella and the Insomniac team got busy and got creative. Partnering with major venues across the city, they spread out events and performances so that groups could gather in smaller numbers, but the party could still go off without a hitch. They even included a virtual component this year using Roblox.

But of the venues rocking EDC this year, one of the hottest locations is at Élia Beach Club, the brand new club at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Élia opened in June, and hit the ground running. The location is breathtakingly beautiful, with a Mykonos-themed decor that makes guests feel transported straight to Greece just by stepping onto the pool deck. Opening weekend performances at the new pool venue included Sofi Tukker, Lane 8, Loco Dice and Deadmau5.

And now, Deadmau5 is back with others to kick off EDC weekend at Élia. Here’s the lineup for the weekend:

  • Friday October 22: Per EDM, “Friday boasts a special Dreamstate show with a double dose of tried-and-true electronic music vets, Cosmic Gate and Mark Schulz.”
  • Sunday October 24th: EDM adds, “In perhaps the venue’s biggest show to date, deadmau5 is primed for a show-stopping set on Sunday, October 24th with support from fast-rising house music duo Rich DietZ. It’ll be a full-circle moment for the legendary DJ and ‘Strobe’ producer, who threw down at Élia’s grand opening in June and will now tie a bow on the club’s daylife season—and his 2021 residency—with a can’t-miss performance. If there’s any way to take EDC Weekend to the next level, this is it.”

And Saturday promises to be something special too.

The Reset

Elia Beach Club

On Saturday, when other Vegas venues are cranking it up, Élia will be offering a two-pronged approach to guests that promises to be the only of its kind in the midst of the EDC fervor.

First, a performance from trance supergroup Above & Beyond. Their performance is an exclusively curated event for Élia guests, and the perfect energy contrast to the evening’s other offering. On Saturday, the Virgin Hotels group will be offering their centering event known as The Reset. In The Reset, guests will be able to enjoy offering yoga, community fitness classes, sound healing and more. They’re calling it “the calm before the storm” and getting guests ready for a big Sunday full of music and fun.

Other EDC Weekend Activities

Wynn EDC

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better place to celebrate EDC than Élia, but there certainly are a plethora of other events going down across the desert city. Wynn Las Vegas, Resorts World, and other huge venues will be hosting Electric Daisy Carnival events. It’s a nearly unprecedented coordination among the city’s best nightlife destinations, and the perfect problem solving solution for pandemic-era limits.

Guests can also log into Roblox server World Party to see streaming performances by their favorite stars, chat with the artists, hang out with other attendees, build their own campsite, or play EDC-themed games.

In a year of big problems, big solutions must be presented. Rotella and Insomniac have worked seamlessly with the teams at venues like Élia, and their hard work will pay off this weekend as EDC hits stages across the city.
