"Father of a Bride" is a timeless classic story that consistently remains a favorite as the years pass.
This June, HBO Max released the third iteration of the movie and within days it had rocketed to the top spot of the summer comedy list, stealing hearts around the world.
The movie, starring Gloria Estefan and Andy Garcia, retells the classic tale in a new and updated way – and fans both new and old are raving about the instant classic, which serves also as a love letter to Miami and the charm of the electric southern beach city.
Now, guests who come to Shelborne South Beach can experience their very own "Father of the Bride" package, immersing themselves in the culture of the movie – and the fun of their favorite comedy.
Father of the Bride at Shelborne
From breathtaking beach scenes to the Shelborne South Beach’s Art Deco porte-cochère, "Father of the Bride" sings a love song to Miami while the characters sing their own love songs.
So now, guests who come to the Shelborne get to experience the best of both the real world and the fantasy world.
In the time-honored tradition of any Cuban father, guests can start their stay by donning a fedora and striking up a Cuban cigar for their very own photoshoot in the Shelborne's retro-modern entrance, which film fans will recognize from the movie.
After your grand entrance with the photoshoot, guests can enjoy a Cuban-caffeine sip at David’s Cafe, where guests can enjoy authentic Cuban coffee and other specially curated delicacies from the Father of the Bride menu. Paying homage to a classic Cuban tradition, dominoes and a table are available for guests to partake.
Once you're done playing superstar (for now), it's time to check out your room. Guests can have a curated playlist of Gloria Estefan's greatest hits before heading out for a luxury boat tour around South Beach, which is featured in the film's trailer.
It's the perfect way for movie fans to spend their summer vacation in South Beach, one of the world's most eclectic and exciting vacation destinations.
Shelborne South Beach
That said, the Shelborne South beach is its own destination, even without the movie package.
Built in the 1940's, the hotel is a midcentury modern ode to the crossover between the classic and the modern.
Hotel guests can choose from a variety of room options, from the city and ocean view standards all the way up to the suites and penthouse suite.
Decor blends MCM mid-tone woods and playful shapes with soft blues and whites for the perfect Miami backdrop.
Guests can choose from a variety of on-property or in-room dining options and enjoy the Guyandgirl Spa or classic 1950's pool with private cabanas.
All of this with Florida's most beautiful sugar sand beaches just steps away from your room.
