Are Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik engaged?! That seems to be the question on everyone’s minds after the model dropped a major clue that she and her boyfriend of five years were gearing up to walk down the aisle together. Yep, during a video posted to her Instagram Stories recently, fans were quick to notice that Hadid was wearing a very suspicious ring on that finger, and now, they’re convinced that the couple is getting married.

OK, so if you look closely at the piece of jewelry on her ring finger, it looks like it’s actually a few rings stacked together that feature the evil eye. It doesn’t appear to have any diamond on it, so it may not be an engagement ring after all.

Plus, some fans on Twitter have also pointed out that when you take a selfie or use the front camera on the iPhone, it swaps the image, so the ring may be located on her right hand, not her left (which is the hand people wear engagement rings on). Sorry guys, it looks like the couple is not about to exchange their vows after all.
A source did tell OK! Magazine, however, that Malik is planning to propose to Hadid very soon.
“The word is, Zayn’s been ring shopping,” the insider dished. “They’re the happiest they’ve ever been. Gigi doesn’t feel like she needs a ring — but if Zayn does propose, she would 100 percent say yes.”
Zayn Malik And Gigi Hadid Recently Welcomed Their First Child Together
For those who missed it, the blonde beauty and the former One Direction member welcomed their first child together — a little girl whose name has yet to be revealed — on September 23, 2020.
“Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful,” Malik wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside a touching pic that showed her tiny hand. “To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine and thankful for the life we will have together.”

After her birth, a source told E! News that the 25-year-old is “an amazing mom.”
“Gigi is very tired but is already an amazing mom. The first couple of weeks have been a hard transition but she hasn’t complained and is very elated to be a mom,” they shared.
How Long Has The Couple Been Together?
The two stars first sparked relationship rumors in November 2015, when they were spotted packing on the PDA at Justin Bieber‘s AMA’s afterparty. They officially confirmed their romance in January 2016, when Hadid starred in the music video for Malik’s song “Pillowtalk,” and they packed on the PDA. They made their red carpet debut as a couple in a few months later, in May 2016, when they attended the Met Gala together, and boy, did they look amazing.
After that, they quickly became couple goals — constantly sharing cute pictures together, being photographed holding hands, attending events side by side, gushing over each other during interviews, supporting each other’s work and doing photoshoots together, and everyone was living for their relationship.

There Were A Few Bumps Along The Way
Everything seemed picture perfect, that is, until March 2018 when Hadid and Malik shocked the entire world and announced that they had split.
“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend,” the “Better” crooner wrote in a statement on Twitter at the time. “I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time.”

But their breakup didn’t last long! Photographers caught the exes kissing one month later, and it seemed like they were back on. But in January 2019, sources told Us Weekly that they had gone their separate ways again.
“They’re done,” the insider revealed. “They could get back together, but it’s over for now.”
Someone close to the pair also told In Touch, “After arguing for months Gigi and Zayn have decided to call time on their relationship. He’s not in a great place right now. Gigi still has feelings for Zayn, but they’ve been barely spending any time together due to Gigi’s hectic modeling career. She’s constantly traveling to glamorous locations for shoots and Zayn gets insecure when they’re not together.”
In March 2019, however, Malik let everyone know that they were back together when he tweeted “love you” and tagged the star.
“Zayn bombarded Gigi with flowers and romantic gestures after they split,” a source explained to Life & Style at the time. “At first Gigi remained strong, but she’s given in to his pleas and wants to give their relationship another shot.”
But things got messy once again in August 2019, when Hadid was caught packing on the PDA with Bachelorette runner-up Tyler Cameron. They broke up a few months later, and the reality star later admitted that Hadid left him to get back with Malik.
“She’s dating her old man now,” he said, just days after their split.
A few months later, news hit the web that they were expecting a child together, and since then, they’ve been going strong. Now, they seem as happy as could be together.
This Isn’t The First Time People Thought They Might Be Getting Married
It turns out, this isn’t the first time the couple sparked engagement rumors. Back in May 2020, many people thought that they were getting married after the singer got a new tattoo, and it contained an excerpt from the poem “On Marriage” by Kahlil Gibran.
