And, no, we’re not talking about playing games. In fact, the total opposite. Gordo entered 2023 with the intention to put his commitment to house music on display and it’s all beginning with his new single “R U 4REAL” with Ukrainian superstar Marina Maximilian.

Journey Into A New Sound

Diamanté Anthony Blackmon, a.k.a. Gordo, is no stranger to the scene of dance music. Having previously established himself under a different type of dance genre, Blackman did the work of self-exploration to meet this new identity that has since liberated him and established a confidence that embraces the sounds that have been deep in his heart for years.

As we said. GORDO’s here to play, (quite literally.) His intentions were verified when he showed up on the production credits of 6 tracks on Drake‘s most recent dance-infused album. You’re probably familiar with, ‘Currents’, ‘Calling My Name’. ‘Sticky’ (#1 debut on Apple Music’s Today’s Hits playlist), ‘Massive’, and ‘Ties that Bind.’ All of which GORDO produced.

He also received the title of #1 producer on Billboard’s Hot 100 producers, and, DJ Mag crowned him as the #1 Hispanic DJ.

The Year of GORDO

“R U 4REAL” from GORDO and Marina Maximilian isn’t for the numbers.

The much-respected DJ explains, “I didn’t make this record for radio, nor for shows or for Spotify. I made this record for nothing other than my own integrity. I hope you guys are ready for the best piece of art I have ever made.”

The release of this single has been so anticipated that Drake even posted on Instagram, “GORDO finally dropped my anthem.”

The house music DJ continues to create the most desired dance music experiences to attend from his very own TARAKA events to his ‘marathon sets’ where he continues to DJ for hours on end.

Keep your eyes and ears out for GORDO this year, you’ll be happy you did.
