It’s official, you guys, Halsey‘s fourth album is on the way! Yep, the singer has finally shared some much-needed details on the highly-anticipated LP — including the cover art and the release date — and we couldn’t be more excited.
So when will her new music drop? What can fans expect from the album? What will it sound like? And will there be any collabs on the record? Not to worry, people, because we went ahead and rounded up all the important info for you. Here’s everything you need to know about Halsey’s upcoming fourth album…
The Album Will Be Called ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, July 7, the “Without Love” songstress (who revealed that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin back in January) announced that the album will be called If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, and she explained how it will touch on “the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth.” The album cover shows her sitting in a throne holding a baby with her breasts showing.
“It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully,” she explained. “My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being. This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”

It’s Going To Sound Different From Her Past Music
Lucky for us, Halsey has already shared a small preview of her new music, and it definitely has a different sound than we’re used to from her! It appears that the album will be a lot more punk-rock, especially since it was produced by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of details on if there will be any collaborations or the track list, but hopefully the 26-year-old shares some more details with us soon. As for its release date, you better mark your calendars, people, because it’s set to come out on August 27, 2021.

Many Celebrities Have Supported Halsey

After sharing the powerful album artwork online, many stars took to the comment section to show their support! Sydney Sweeney wrote, “Queen,” while Addison Raeadded, “Wow.” Rihanna also commented, “Wow,” while Paris Hilton simply left the eye-heart emoji. Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards said, “This is BREATHTAKING! Wow,” and Demi Lovato wrote, “This is iconic af.” Jordin Sparks also called it a “work of art.” Yeah, it looks like Halsey definitely has the support from her celebrity friends!
She Announced She Was Pregnant Back In January
For those who missed it, the musician first announced that she was expecting her first child with Aydin on January 27, 2021.
“Surprise!” she captioned a shot of herself showing off her growing baby bump at the time.

The two stars kept their romance pretty quiet before that, which is why the baby news was especially shocking. But according to reports, they actually started dating all the way back in the fall of 2020. A source told People Magazine, “Halsey has been low-key about their relationship. They were spending a lot of time at her house in the fall though, and it was obvious that she was happy.”
They were spotted together for the first time in October 2020 — when photographers caught the pair picking up art supplies side by side in Los Angeles — but at the time, nobody thought anything about it. They have stayed pretty tight-lipped about their love, however, Halsey did share one selfie of her and Aydin earlier this year, in honor of the new year.
“Grateful for you this year and every year, sweets. Seni çok seviyorum,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories, which means, “I love you so much,” in Turkish.

And get this — they already got matching tattoos! Yep, they both got the word “seeds” tattooed onto their feet in each other’s handwriting — how sweet is that?!

It’s still unclear how exactly they met, but it looks like they have known each other for a while now, since Aydin actually posted a pic with Halsey back in 2019! At the time, he shared a snap of himself and the 26-year-old enjoying a Lakers game, which he captioned, “Back when I did a very cool thing I’ll prob never get to do again — massive thanks @iamhalsey for the courtside experience. Only ones not on our phones, actually watching the game.”
Halsey Previously Suffered From A Miscarriage

Unfortunately, the star previously suffered from a miscarriage, which she described as the “most inadequate she’s ever felt.”
“Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralizing,” she told The Guardian in February 2020. But Halsey still seemed hopeful, adding that becoming a mom was “looking like something that’s gonna happen for me. That’s a miracle.”
Halsey suffers from a disorder called endometriosis, which is when “tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus.”
“I’ve been really open about my struggles with reproductive health, about wanting to freeze my eggs and having endometriosis and things like that,” she wrote when her album Manic came out in January 2020. “For a long time, I didn’t think that having a family was something I was going to be able to do, and it’s very, very important to me.”
She continued, “Then one day my OB-GYN tells me it’s looking like I maybe can, and I was so moved. It felt like this ascension into a different kind of womanhood. All of a sudden, everything is different. I’m not going to go tour myself to death because I have nothing else to do and I’m overcompensating for not being able to have this other thing that I really want. Now, I have a choice. I’ve never had a choice before.”
