It’s official, you guys, Harry Styles is starring in Marvel’s upcoming movie, TheEternals. Yep, after months of speculation, the One Direction member’s role was finally confirmed at the Los Angeles premiere of the new flick on Monday, October 18. According to Variety senior film writer, Matt Donnelly, who attended the event this week, Styles appears in a post-credits scene as Thanos’ brother, Eros.

“Big reveal from The Eternals premiere — Harry Styles has joined the MCU as Eros, brother of Thanos,” he wrote on Twitter.

Wow, this is seriously the best news ever! But wait, what can we expect from the singer’s cameo? Who even is Eros? What else do we know about the movie? And when will it come out? What Do We Know About Harry Styles’ Character?

According to Marvel, Eros (also known as Starfox) is the youngest son of two Eternals, A’Lars and Sui-San. He is described as “a fun-loving, carefree womanizer in contrast to his brother Tanos, a power-hungry, misanthropic schemer.” As for his powers, he has superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability and reflexes. He can also teleport, fly and he’s immortal! Most importantly, however, is his ability to control other people’s pleasure.

“Starfox possesses the psionic ability to stimulate the pleasure centers of the brains of people within 25 feet of himself. This power, which emanates from him at all times causes other beings to feel good around him. By concentrating, he can magnify these emanations, provoking such extreme pleasurable sensations that a person becomes highly aroused, euphoric or totally sedated, as the case may be,” Marvel explained. “In addition, he has demonstrated empathetic abilities and the ability to generate a mental bond between two people. Recently it has been seen that Starfox can combine its ability to stimulate pleasure centers with its control of cosmic energy, recharging it with a strange, probably psionic, pink energy, which causes effects similar to those of its pleasure simulation when people enter contact with this energy.”

What Else Do We Know About The Movie?

What will the movie be about, you ask? Well, the film is reportedly going to follow “a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations.” Aside from Styles, some other big names have also been cast in the movie, including Angelina Jolie, Kit Harington, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Gemma Chan and Richard Madden. As for the release date, you may want to mark your calendars, people, because it’s set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021.

What Other Films Does Harry Styles Have In The Works?

It turns out, this isn’t the only movie that Styles’ fans have to look forward to. He’s actually got two more flicks in the works, and we can’t wait to see them!

The first is called Don’t Worry Darling, which wrapped filming back in February. Styles will star alongside Florence Pugh (who fans may recognize from Little Women, Midsommar, Black Widow and more), Chris Pine (who is most known for his role in Star Trek, but also acted in Wonder Woman, Into the Woods and others) and Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson. But want to know the best part? Drum roll please… Olivia Wilde (who is not his girlfriend) is directing the movie! Plus, Katie Silberman (who was behind films like Isn’t It Romantic, the Netflix movie Set It Up and more) wrote the screenplay. Wow, talk about a dream team.

Deadline reported that the film “is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert.” According to Collider, Pugh will play “an unhappy housewife who slowly begins to question her own sanity when she starts to notice strange occurrences.” As for Pine, he will star as “the leader of a mysterious worksite.” The outlet adds, “All the men are employed just outside of town, and Pine’s character is revered by all of his staffers and their wives, almost in a cult-like fashion.”

Johnson’s character reportedly lives next door to Pugh, and “will begins to exhibit strange, paranoid behavior and tries to warn Pugh that everything in their community is not what it seems.” But what about the 1D heartthrob, you ask? Well, Collider reported that the 26-year-old will play “Pugh’s picture-perfect husband, who loves her dearly, but is hiding a dark secret from her.” Sounds intense! It’s going to premiere on September 23, 2022.

The other movie is called My Policeman and is going to be based off a book by Bethan Roberts. Emma Corrin and David Dawson have also been cast in the flick.

“The story takes place in the late 1990s, when the arrival of elderly invalid Patrick into Marion and Tom’s home, triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years previous: the passionate relationship between Tom and Patrick at a time when homosexuality was illegal,” the synopsis reads.

What Else Is He Up To These Days?

The musician, who is currently in the midst of his world tour, is reportedly going to drop his new music any day now. Yep, an insider recently told The Sun, “Harry started working on the album in early 2020 and had a few writing sessions under his belt before the pandemic really took hold. As a result plans were put on ice but most of the record ended up being recorded in the U.K. Right now exact details are top secret but the track listing should be decided soon. Harry is really excited about the album.”

Back in July, Styles confirmed that he had new tunes coming soon, while giving us an update on the tour. For those who don’t know, he was actually supposed to hit the road earlier this year, but because of the coronavirus pandemic he announced that he was postponing the concerts until the fall. And while sharing the news, he also dropped a hint that he had new music in the works — so you might want to prepare yourselves!

“Love on Tour will be going out across the USA this September and I could not be more excited for these shows. As always, the well-being of my fans, band, and crew, is my top priority. Safety guidelines will be available on the respective venue websites to ensure we can all be together as safely as possible. Please notice that some dates have changed, and new shows have been added,” the singer wrote at the time. “To everyone in the UK and across the world, I can’t wait to see you again, but for obvious reasons it is just not possible at this time. I will be sharing more news soon about shows across the globe and new music. I love you all so much. I’m excited and I can’t wait to see you.”

“New music?!?!?” Naturally, those two words quickly caught the eyes of millions of fans. Plus, did we mention that Styles was spotted in Bath, England, earlier this year? Some people were quick to point out that is the location for the studio that his last LP, Fine Line, was recorded in. Coincidence? We hope not.

There’s certainly a lot to look forward to right now in the world of Mr. Styles, and we couldn’t be more excited about it all.
