Has ‘Flowers’ Created A Legal Fued Between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth?
Rumors of Liam Hemsworth attempting to sue his ex-wife Miley Cyrus for her new track, ‘Flowers,’ have created a storm

Rumors of Liam Hemsworth attempting to sue his ex-wife Miley Cyrus for her new track, ‘Flowers,’ have created a storm on the internet. Alleged ‘leaked documents’ were uploaded to Twitter which revealed Hemsworth stating Cyrus as the defendant in the case.
The news has caught on like wildfire and the first thing we still need to know is if it’s even true.
It’s Not True
We’re not kidding. It really isn’t. Hemsworth is in fact not suing Cyrus for defamation with her latest single, ‘Flowers.’
A Twitter account that goes by the handle @CyrusOnStats tweeted, ‘According to leaked documents, Liam Hemsworth is officially suing Miley Cyrus for defaming him after the success of the single “Flowers.” They added, “He was about to lose his contract with Netflix for the series “The Witcher.”

The tweeted document was quickly learned to be very much photoshopped which means that no, Hemsworth is not taking any legal action against Cyrus for her song ‘Flowers’ (at this time.)
Keeping ‘Flowers’ On the Charts
Followup claims to the rumors are that fans did this to keep the song alive and crawling up the charts and attempt to beat out The Weeknd and Ariana Grande‘s remis ‘Die For You.’
So far, ‘Flowers’ has held No. 1 on the Billboard charts for six consecutive weeks.
The popular break-up anthem/ dis at Hemsworth has been in the spotlight for all of us Cyrus’s references that fans quickly connected to their long on-and-off relationship. For example:
- The song’s release date, January 13, just so happens to be Hemsworth’s birthday
- The chorus of the song: “I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can.” Several TikTokers pointed out, the chorus of the song appears to mirror “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars, whose music Miley and Liam danced to at their 2018 wedding. It sings, “I should have bought you flowers / And held your hand / Should have gave you all my hours / When I had the chance,” Bruno sang on his track. “Take you to every party ’cause all you wanted to do was dance / Now my baby’s dancing / But she’s dancing with another man.”
- Fans also called out the house in the music video to be the same one as the house they shared before it burnt down. And, the lyrics that were a direct reference to it, “We were good, we were gold / Kinda dream that can’t be sold / We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.”
Well, whatever the truth is and whatever Liam Hemsworth may or may not do about it is probably something we won’t ever know. But something we do know is that ‘Flowers’ is absolutely a great track by Miley Cyrus.
