‘He Must Be Insane’: Donald Trump Lashes Out at Joe Biden in Midnight Post Before Going on Three Hour Social Media Frenzy

Last night, President Joe Biden spoke before the world to deliver remarks on what he called "threats to democracy," including far-right extremism in a brand openly pushed by former President Donald Trump.
Trump responded by taking to Truth Social just after midnight with a slam for the President, which preceded a three-hour frenzy on social media.
‘He Must Be Insane,’ Donald Trump Says of Joe Biden
Biden pulled no punches in his speech last night. Although he only mentioned Trump's name twice, he was clear in holding the former POTUS accountable for "MAGA Republican" ideology and political violence.
At one point, Biden said, "Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.
Now, I want to be very clear, very clear up front. Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology. I know, because I’ve been able to work with these mainstream Republicans.
But there’s no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country." A full transcript of the speech can be read here.
Trump took the speech as exactly what it was – the first volley in a concerted effort to disarm an extremist movement gaining steam in the United States, culminating in the January 6 attempted insurrection riots.
Trump took to Truth Social just after midnight with a slam for the POTUS, writing, "Someone should explain to Joe Biden, slowly but passionately, that MAGA means, as powerfully as mere words can get, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! If he doesn’t want to Make America Great Again, which through words, action, and thought, he doesn’t, then he certainly should not be representing the United States of America!"
Trump then added in a new post, "If you look at the words and meaning of the awkward and angry Biden speech tonight, he threatened America, including with the possible use of military force. He must be insane, or suffering from late stage dementia!"
Unfortunately for the former POTUS, that's exactly the speculation being levied against him after a series of posting frenzies on Truth Social,
The posts in response to the President's speech were followed by three hours of re-"truth"ing more memes, videos and shares from other users which included well-known extremist Q-Anon theories.
Trump is Bankrolling Those Being Criminally Charged over January 6
But Biden's speech and Trump's rant weren't the only revelations of the past 24 hours.
On Thursday, the former President says he's met with defendants in trials related to the riots on January 6. Business Insider reports, "When asked during a call-in with the conservative Wendy Bell Radio show how he can help the defendants, Trump said he's 'financially supporting people that are incredible,' adding that he hosted some defendants in his office just two days ago.
'It's a disgrace what they've done to them,' Trump said, referring to sweeping Justice Department and FBI investigations of the deadly insurrection.
'They're firemen, they're policemen, they're people in the military,' Trump said of the defendants, adding that his legal team has been 'working on it very hard.'"
Trump also floated the possibility of full pardons and an apology if he should win the presidency again in 2024.
It's another monkey wrench in his legal team's efforts to try to paint him as separate from the actions of the January 6 rioters, many of whom have been found guilty of crimes; "More than 700 people have been charged in the Jan. 6 insurrection, according to the Justice Department. They were arrested mostly on federal charges ranging from unlawfully entering the Capitol to seditious conspiracy. Suspects include more than three dozen members and associates of right-wing extremist groups such as the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers" per AP News.
But from Trump's admitting to a crime yesterday on Truth Social to blatantly admitting to being on the side of rioters to whom he believes the country owes an apology – for storming the Capitol while armed, remember – it's clear the FPOTUS no longer cares about his criminal liability.
