Johnny Depp is making his return to the stage in the United States – the rock stage that is. The actor/musician has been performing live with legendary musician Jeff Beck overseas as of late. Depp’s social media has no doubt made you jealous of Europeans who got to see the pair together this summer. Well, the actor and iconic guitarist are bringing their tour to North America.
We last saw Depp make a brief appearance a couple of weeks ago at the MTV Music Awards when he donned an astronaut outfit and flew into the Prudential Center. He joked at the time he was available for birthday parties and needed the work.
Dynamic Duo
Depp and Beck met in 2016. After three years of friendship, the duo decided to make music together in 2019. During the pandemic of 2020 they dropped their collaboration of the John Lennon song “Isolation,” a perfectly timed song if ever there was one.
Just this summer they dropped their album 18. With 13 tracks, the album is an ode to their younger years. “When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title too,” Beck said while speaking about the album. The CD and digital copies of the album are out with the vinyl expected later this month. The cover of the album is a drawing of the duo as 18-year olds. The illustration was done by Beck’s wife, Sandra.
Depp and Beck have been on the road promoting their first album together. Most recently they wrapped the European leg of the tour, simultaneously Depp was embroiled in a widely watched trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard. When that trial was over Depp was awarded $15-million dollars. At the time Depp posted on his social media, “the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled.”
Out of the courtroom, the tour was met with great reviews.
Back here in the states their North American tour starts on September 22 in Austin. Stops include Phoenix, Las Vegas at the Pearl Concert Theater inside the newly reopened Palms Casino Resort on November 4 before going onto Los Angeles and the Orpheum Theater on the 6th of November.

Depp – known for his roles in Edward Scissorhands and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise – has a Golden Globe and three Oscar nominations to his name. When not acting or in litigation, Depp has been recording and touring with the Hollywood Vampires, the band that he started with Joe Perry and Alice Cooper in 2012.
Hollywood Vampires would release two albums and feature iconic rockers like Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl and, you guessed it, Jeff Beck.
Beck is acknowledged as one of the most talented and significant guitarists. In his five decades of making music, his credits include eight Grammys and two separate inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (once as a member of the Yardbirds and another as a solo artist). Even Rolling Stone even ranked Jeff Beck as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time.
