It’s no secret, the Jonas Brothers love Las Vegas. From performances to weddings, the desert city holds a special place in the hearts of the Jonas family members. Now, they’re making that love official. The Jonas Brothers have a family restaurant, in case you didn’t know, and it’s coming to Las Vegas. Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will soon be a Vegas destination.

Nellie’s Comes to Vegas

The Jonas family is bringing their love of Southern-style cuisine to Las Vegas, in partnership with the MGM Grand. The Nellie’s team shares in a statement, “Located in The District opposite the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the 11,000-square-foot-restaurant will pay homage to Kevin, Sr.’s grandmother, Nellie, who lived in Belmont, North Carolina until she passed in 2011. With an atmosphere inspired by the Jonas’ love for music, the vibrant space will be a lively spot for all ages to enjoy fresh, flavorful dishes and live entertainment.

‘To open a restaurant in the heart of the iconic Las Vegas Strip is thrilling, and I know my Grandma Nellie would be truly amazed seeing her name in lights,’ said Kevin, Sr. ‘Our family loves Las Vegas. We have spent significant time in the city and are proud to invite everyone to pull up a seat and enjoy our family’s hospitality and treasured family recipes.’”

Denise Jonas adds, “One of our greatest joys in life is sharing a meal with those we love. There is always room for guests in our home and around our table. Grandma Nellie was the perfect example of showing this kind of comfort to people!”

The restaurant design concept is a blend of classic and modern, with a focus on elegant, folkloric culture and comfort. Get ready for Southern comfort, Las Vegas; the Jonas family is bringing it all.

The MGM Grand location marks the second for the restaurant concept. The first sits in the heart of North Carolina, in Belmont. It’s a delightful display of Southern cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Southern cuisine is made to nourish more than the body; it’s crafted to nourish the soul. And the Nellie’s team has taken that mission to heart, crafting a menu that should both comfort and please. Menu offerings include:

  • Chicken and Dumplin’s: No “G” here, this Southern favorite uses dumplings made from scratch.
  • Hawg Hill Plate: Pecan pulled pork and coleslaw make this quintessential Southern dish a blend of savory and sweet. Vegetarians can switch the pork for portabellas.
  • Fried Okra: It wouldn’t be Southern without this staple.
  • Fried Catfish: Served with coleslaw, French fries, and spicy remoulade.
  • Biscuits and Gravy: Although outsiders often cringe at the description of this dish, there’s nothing as savory and satisfying as a biscuit smothered in Southern-style gravy with pieces of sausage throughout.
  • Plus so much more. It’s Southern food with an upscale twist, and you won’t want to miss it.

The Jonas family is excited for this new venture, and this is what family members have to say about the Vegas location, per a team statement:

Joe Jonas said, “We have incredible memories performing at MGM Grand Garden Arena, so to have Nellie’s next to it is surreal. Las Vegas has always had a special place in our hearts, and now our connection to the city and its community will be stronger than ever.”

Nick Jonas said, “My great-grandmother was happiest when surrounded by people having a great time. That’s what Nellie’s is all about – amazing food, vibes and music. We love Las Vegas and can’t wait for my Dad to be able to introduce Nellie’s and this piece of our family history to the West Coast.”

But what makes

Vegas so special to the Jonas Brothers? For one, it’s where Joe and Sophie Turner tied the knot. And for another – the Jonas Brothers were supposed to have a thrilling comeback residency in Vegas in 2020, but the pandemic put it on hold. The good news is they’ve been able to return to Sin City to perform for their fans even if it took a year to get back to it.

Now, when they go to Vegas they’ll feel like they’re returning home. With Nellie’s Southern Kitchen and MGM Grand striking an exciting cord for quarter one of 2022, we can’t wait to see what else Vegas has to offer next year. So pencil in “Nellie’s” to your 2022 Vegas destination locations; you won’t want to miss it.
