What Did Joshua Bassett Say About Harry Styles?

As fans know, back in May 2021, Bassett actually admitted he was a huge fan of the former One Direction member, while opening up about his sexuality.

“What I admire about Harry Styles is that he is a very classy man, and he’s also very well rounded and he kind of does it all — acting, singing, fashion. I think that he’s just a nice guy who doesn’t say too much but when he talks, it matters,” he explained. “He’s just cool, he’s cool. Who doesn’t think Harry Styles is cool?”

The Disney star continued, “Also he’s hot, you know. He’s very charming too. Lots of things. I guess this also my coming out video, I guess, uh…”

He also said he’s ready to collab with “Sign of the Times” crooner, and we’re so here for this.

“Why don’t you ask Harry that! I’m just kidding, I haven’t been responding to his calls. I should probably get back to him. He just keeps asking me to do an album, and I’m like, ‘Dude, let’s just do one song and then we can worry about the album. Calm down,’” he joked, when asked if he was going to make music with Styles. “Anyway, one day. One day soon, let’s manifest it, let’s make it happen.”

What Else Has Joshua Bassett Said About His Sexuality?

Some people were convinced that he was only joking around, while others thought it was proof that Bassett is bisexual. And a few days later, Bassett took to Twitter to speak further on his sexuality and clear the air.

“My entire life, people have told me my sexuality. People have shamed me for things they know nothing about. I want to say thank you to those of you who stand for love and acceptance,” he wrote on Twitter. “Toxicity, hatred and negativity say less about the subject, but say more about those who spew it. It’s 2021, we are the generation of love and growth, it’s time we start acting like it. Whether you love me, hate me or d**n me to Hell, I love you all the same. Love who you love shamelessly. It’s OK to still be figuring out who you are. Life’s too short to let ignorance and hatred win. I choose love.”

Plus, when he was asked by GQ Magazine if he was serious about his comments, the 20-year-old said, “I wasn’t joking.”

“There are plenty of letters in the alphabet… Why bother rushing to a conclusion? Sometimes your letter changes, sometimes you try a different one, other times you realize you’re not what you thought you were, or maybe you always knew. All of these can be true. I’m happy to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community because they embrace all. Don’t let anyone tell you love isn’t love. They’re the ones who probably need it the most,” he added.

What Do We Know About His Relationship With Sabrina Carpenter?

Sabrina Carpenter

Bassett and Carpenter’s relationship made headlines earlier this year after it appeared to be the subject of Olivia Rodrigo‘s hit song “Drivers License.” For those who missed it, Bassett and Carpenter started dating just a few weeks after he and Rodrigo split up, and she allegedly spilled all the tea on their messy love triangle in her emotional ballad.

“I got my driver’s license last week / Just like we always talked about / ‘Cause you were so excited for me / To finally drive up to your house / But today I drove through the suburbs / Crying ’cause you weren’t around,” the lyrics read. “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me / She’s everything I’m insecure about / Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs / ‘Cause how could I ever love someone else?”

Her album Sour seemingly contained many other tracks about the situation, including “Traitor,” “Good 4 U,” “Happier,” “Favorite Crime,” “Déjà Vu” and more. And the drama didn’t end there. Carpenter seemed to respond with a song of her own, called “Skin,” which was all about someone who likes the same guy as her. Not only did she mention that “blonde girl” line from “Drivers License,” but she also seemed to include a few digs directed towards Rodrigo.

“Maybe we could’ve been friends / If I met you in another life / Maybe then we could pretend / There’s no gravity in the words we write / Maybe you didn’t mean it / Maybe blonde was the only rhyme / The only rhyme,” she sang. “Want my heart to be breaking, breaking, no / I’m happy and you hate it, hate it, oh / And I’m not asking you to let it go / But you been telling your side / So I’ll be telling mine, oh / You can try / To get under my, under my, under my skin / While he’s on mine / Yeah, all on my, all on my all, on my skin / I wish you knew that even you / Can’t get under my skin / If I don’t let you in.”

However, since they hadn’t been seen together in a while, many fans started to wonder in recent weeks if they had split up. Until now, that is. We’re so happy to see that they’re still together and as happy as could be!
