Atlanta-area prosecutors investigating attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia have uncovered text messages and emails linking members of Donald Trump’s legal team to the early January 2021 voting system breach in Coffee County. Sources have informed CNN that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is preparing to press charges against more than a dozen individuals, some of whom are believed to have been involved in the voting systems breach.

While the breach was initially suspected to have originated from sympathetic Trump supporters in Coffee County, evidence suggests it was a coordinated effort led by Trump’s team to gain access to sensitive voting software. The breach was part of a broader push to find evidence to substantiate baseless claims of widespread fraud, in support of Trump’s effort to overturn the election results.

Although former President Trump’s call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and attempts to present fake slates of electors have been central to the investigation, the voting system breach has emerged as a focus over the past year. Evidence indicates that Trump’s attorneys and hired operatives sought unauthorized access to Coffee County’s voting systems, which could potentially impact the certification of Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

The investigation has also looked into the actions of individuals involved in the breach, including Misty Hampton, a former Coffee County elections official, and Trump’s attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell. Hampton is believed to have played a role in facilitating the breach and extending written invitations to Trump’s legal team to access voting systems.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Giuliani’s attorney Robert Costello denied his client’s involvement in the breach. However, the collected evidence suggests a connection between Giuliani, the voting system breach, and an effort to challenge the legitimacy of the 2020 election results.

The revelation of Trump legal team members’ involvement in the breach further adds to the complexity of the criminal probe, which aims to unveil the extent of coordination and planning behind the attempts to overturn the election results.
