Kailyn Lowry Confirms She Won't Be on New Teen Mom Show But May Have Her Own Show in Mind

Fans of Teen Mom's Kailyn Lowry were recently given bummer news: Lowry is not joining the cast for a new show.

Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 are going to be combined into one new show, and Lowry has confirmed that she won't be joining her co-stars. However, could something new be in the works? Here's what Lowry has to say about it.

No to Teen Mom, Yes to Her Own Reality Show?

Back in March, rumors began circulating that there was a new Teen Mom show coming.

However, instead of being a Teen Mom 3 or some sort of brand-new show, it was going to be a combination of Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2.

Soon, people begin clamoring to figure out which of their favorites would be joining the cast.

But unfortunately for fans of Kailyn Lowry, she recently confirmed on her Barely Famous podcast that she would not be one of those returning for the new show.

All of this comes on the heels of some controversy that some speculate may have led to Lowry's firing from the show, but there's no official word on that yet.

Lowry’s Plans for the Future

Speaking with famous celeb blogger Perez Hilton, Lowry confirmed that they did ask her to join the show – but she declined.

The Ashley's Reality Roundup reports, "'I don’t think so,' Kail said when Perez asked her is she was going to be part of the upcoming show. 'Right now, the way I look at it, I just don’t want to.'

Kail confirmed that she was, indeed, asked to be on the upcoming consolidated show, though.

'They asked me, they called me and I congratulated them on being able to do that,' Kail said.

She later admitted that she didn’t feel she was offered enough money to be on the new show was that was 'part of' the reason she declined."

Lowry also cited declining ratings for Teen Mom as to part of her losing interest in continuing with the show's future.

But where does that leave Lowry, and her thousands of fans?

The Ashley adds, "'I personally feel like I have enough going on to do my own show,' she continued. 'Unless they want to offer that to me, or they want to work on something like that. I just don’t know. Why am I going to take a pay cut to do the same amount of work and also not be able to tell my story with full transparency? I want to to do that, despite what other people may say.'”

While it doesn't sound like anything specific is in the works, Lowry is open to her own show – and that's good news for fans.

After all, even off-screen Lowry has an interesting and action-packed life. The Teen Mom star recently lost a court case against enemy and fellow Teen Mom Briana DeJesus for defamation.

DeJesus suggested Lowry committed assault against her ex and baby daddy, Chris Lopez. Lowry sued for defamation, but the judge determined that it was within DeJesus's First Amendment rights to say what she did.

Unfortunately for Lowry, the drama did not end there. She may have lost her BFF, Leah Messer, over the feud with DeJesus. And it would seem that one relationship ended – with Malik Montgomery – and she started a new one.

Since then, her son Lux has been hospitalized (and released), and their family dog Gizmo died.

If Lowry is ready to start a reality show in the midst of all that, more power to her – but no one could blame her for needing a break and some time to breathe.
