Kailyn Lowry Suffers Devastating Loss in the Wake of Losing Court Case to Briana DeJesus

Teen Mom's Kailyn Lowry has been put through the ringer recently. After all the drama about enemy Briana DeJesus teaming up with Lowry's ex for a podcast, Lowry at least had her defamation lawsuit against DeJesus to look forward to – right?

Unfortunately, no. The lawsuit was dismissed in favor of DeJesus. The fallout of her feud against DeJesus has left her possibly on the hook for a lot of money to cover court costs, and may have also led to the end of her BFF status with Leah Messer. But that's enough for anyone – right??

Again, unfortunately the answer is no. Lowry has recently revealed a devastating loss suffered by her family, and it's just the icing on the cake of horrible things the Teen Mom star has been dealing with recently.

A Tremendous Loss for Kail and the Kids

RIP Gizmo: Lowry's family has recently suffered the devastating loss of their family dog.

The Sun reports, "Now Kailyn, 30, has suffered more heartbreak as she announced the death of her beloved dog Gizmo.

The reality star took to her Instagram stories on Friday to share a photo of her adorable late pup as he sat on the couch and gazed at the camera.

The TV personality captioned her post: 'Gizmo crossed the rainbow bridge this morning,' with the rainbow emoji."

Gizmo was a beautiful tawny French Bulldog with a sweet face and a heart of gold. It's the kind of loss that feels like a double-whammy in an already overwhelming season of life.

The Doomed Court Case of Lowry vs DeJesus

The lawsuit against DeJesus seemed like a home run for Lowry, but the judge saw it a different way and ruled in favor of the defendant.

Lowry filed the lawsuit against DeJesus after the latter said she beat up her ex, Chris Lopez. Lowry called the statement defamatory, and wanted a court to decide.

But the judge found Lowry's accusations unfounded. A court document explains in part, "The written post cannot be considered defamatory because, as a matter of law, it contained protected speech regarding opinion or was factually accurate." The document adds, "It was widely publicized that Lowry had been arrested for domestic violence and Soto's comments on the issue were substantially true."

DeJesus leaned on the First Amendment to build her defense, and it would seem the court agrees with her right to free speech in this case.

CELEB reported DeJesus's victory when news dropped; "In a short statement to Celebuzz DeJesus said, 'I won.' And, although this is the outcome she hoped for, DeJesus isn't entirely satisfied. The Orlando native plans to sue Lowry for all of the legal fees that she obtained which total up to $120,096.87, according to Celebuzz. Can she do this?

Marc Randazza, the lawyer of the reality star, told The Sun, 'The anti-slapp law gives us the right to see attorneys' fees, and we intend to get Ms. Soto every penny to which she is entitled.'"

In addition to losing the court case, and losing Gizmo, Lowry is also dealing with the loss of her bestie Leah Messer.

It would seem that Messer refused to be rude to DeJesus and that upset Lowry. But it wasn't until Messer "liked" a social media post from DeJesus that sparks flew.

Now the pair have unfollowed each other on social media and occasionally take passive aggressive swipes at one another online.

It's the worst unimaginable time to be down one best friend, but Lowry will do what she always does and find a way to get through it.

Our condolences to Lowry and the family on the loss of sweet Gizmo.
