Kailyn Lowry Hires Hard-Hitting Lawyer to Battle Briana DeJesus Over $120K Legal Fees

The ongoing feud between Teen Mom stars Kailyn Lowry and Briana DeJesus has entered a new chapter.

The enemies, who recently just ended one round of back-and-forth with a win for DeJesus, are back in the arena again, and this time DeJesus is looking to recoup the $120K in legal fees she spent on the last court battle. Lowry has gotten herself a serious lawyer to fight back. Here's what we know about the latest match.

Time to Get Serious

Last June, Lowry filed a lawsuit against DeJesus for defamation after the latter said Lowry beat her ex baby daddy, Chris Lopez.

In April after months of back and forth, a judge dismissed the case in favor of DeJesus after an anti-slapp motion protected her right to free speech.

But even though she technically won the case, DeJesus was left with a bill for legal fees that totaled over $120,000. Now, she's looking to get every penny of it back from Lowry under the same anti-slapp law. And Lowry isn't giving up yet.

The Sun reports, "… The Sun can exclusively reveal the battle isn’t over yet, as Kailyn filed a notice of appearance for new lead lawyer Christopher A. Aguirre of the Trembly Law Firm located in Miami, Florida.

New York-based Nicole Haff is no longer listed as the lead attorney on the court docket.

The attorney’s bio on the law website reads: “Christopher A. Aguirre is a Senior Litigation and Trial Attorney with Trembly Law Firm. Christopher has extensive experience in Florida trial and Federal trial litigation."

Lowry calls the case being dismissed and the battle she waged to get even that far a "learning experience" that she doesn't regret.

In a podcast with former Bachelor alum Nick Viall, Lowry explains, "I actually don't regret it because I stood up for myself. I felt like I was taking, just like, a lot and I stood up for myself. So, ultimately if nothing else that's what I got out of it."

It cost Lowry around $200K to wage the war – but it may cost $120K more before it's all over, if DeJesus wins again.

A Party That’s Splitting the Teen Mom Universe

While DeJesus may have come out on top in court, fans are a little less enthusiastic after a post-victory move by the reality star has some crying foul.

DeJesus announced that she would be hosting a celebratory party in the wake of her court victory.

While the battle between Lowry and DeJesus is no secret, it's a bit of a low blow – with salt added to the wound that DeJesus also plans to invite several fellow Teen Mom stars.

It's unclear who might attend, surely DeJesus's pregnant BFF Shirley Burgos will be there. But beyond the obvious, anyone else attending would be seen as taking sides and could widen the rift in the Teen Mom universe.

As it is, fans don't seem super thrilled about what they see is a class-less move by DeJesus, but it may not deter her party spirit.
