Kanye West Calls Black Lives Matter a 'Scam' and Wears 'White Lives Matter' Shirt to Yeezy Fashion Show in Paris

Rapper Kanye West is no longer busy threatening to kill and bury Kim Kardashian's now-ex Pete Davidson.

These days, he's more focused on fighting racial inequality. Actually, he's focused on fighting against fighting racial inequality.

West made headlines this week for wearing a "white lives matter" t-shirt to a Yeezy fashion show in Paris, and received immediately backlash for it. But the "Donda" rapper is doubling down and taking on critics.

Kanye West Says Black Lives Matter is a Scam

When he wore the shirt to the show in Paris, there was no context provided – and the internet immediately rose up in condemnation of West's "white lives matter" statement. Conservative pundit Candace Owens was there to show her support, also wearing a "White Lives Matter" shirt.

But since being hit with backlash from multiple directions, West has decided to hit back on Instagram with a series of deleted-post-round-robin.

First, West replied, "EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM NOW ITS OVER YOU'RE WELCOME."

West may be referring to allegations over the past few years that a few BLM execs have been nabbed for alleged misappropriation of funds.

Kanye Hits Back

But that's not all West is talking about on Instagram today. One Vogue contributor by the name of Gabriella Karefa-Johnson joined a chorus of verified accounts in slamming West's choice of attire, calling it "irresponsible" and "dangerous."

West clearly took offense, and posted an image of Karefa-Johnson in a pair of yellow boots with the caption, "I KNOOOOOOW ANNA [Wintour] HAAAATES THESE BOOTS." And another with the caption, "This is not a fashion person You speak on Ye Ima speak on you Ask Trevor Noah."

West has already deleted his original comment about BLM being a scam, and has since posted an image reading simply, "WHEN I SAID WAR I MEANT WAR."

Could this be the start of another presidential run for West, who briefly ran for president in 2020?

Or is it yet another sign of the famous rapper's poor mental health playing out in public?

West has long been a MAGA supporter and has been critical of racial equality movements, once going so far as to call slavery a "choice."

But even knowing his history with BLM, it's a random fight for West to pick. It could be because he's been out of headlines now that ex-wife Kim and her boyfriend are splitsville, or it could be because he's unbalanced and lashing out.

Both options would fit West's personality and past behavior patterns to a T.
