Karen Gillan Attended a Couple’s Therapy Sesh in Full Nebula Makeup
“Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Doctor Who” star Karen Gillan recently shared a funny story about showing up to a virtual couple’s therapy session in full Nebula makeup.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” fans know just how much makeup Karen Gillan had to don to play the spicy Nebula.
But they may not be aware that it took the actress around four hours to don the blue makeup – making it a lengthy process that requires an all or nothing commitment to filming once begun.
Gillan recently opened up about the amusing time she attended couple’s therapy in full Nebula makeup – and she brought a screenshot to share with the class.
“Guardians of the Galaxy 3” hits theaters tomorrow, and Gillan decided to share an amusing anecdote to keep fans satiated as they wait for the big premiere.

In a new Instagram post, Gillan shared a screenshot of herself, husband Nick Kocher and their therapist as they attended a virtual couple’s therapy session.
She captioned it, “In honour of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters this Friday – here’s a screenshot of the time I forgot I had scheduled a COUPLES THERAPY session on a day we were shooting.”
Co-star Chris Pratt couldn’t stop himself from commenting on the hilarious image, writing, “THIS IS THE BEST.”
Actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Nebula’s sister Gamora, also responded in the comments with two cry-laughing emojis; “this needs to be in a movie.”
And the comments didn’t stop there.
Fans poured support into the comments, saying that the image is both hilarious and relatable – life doesn’t stop when you’re trying to shore up a marriage, after all.
One commenter responded, “As a couples therapist, this is a new hope for my career (PS good on you guys for chatting with someone! It’s getting rarer and rarer, but can be really helpful. I wish you the best of luck with wherever this adventure takes you ).”
People reports, “Gillan explained to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday that she was running late to the therapy session in question, necessitating her appearance in her Nebula makeup.
‘I don’t know if they were fully prepared for what they got when I logged on,’ she told the outlet. ‘I was late to the session, and I had warned them, ‘Oh, I’m late because I’m at work,’ so they had an inkling, but I don’t think they realized I was going to be in full makeup.’
‘The therapist couldn’t stop laughing, actually,’ she told the outlet, laughing about the moment. ‘I felt bad for her.'”
“Guardians of the Galaxy 3” hits theaters on May 5. An official synopsis for the third (and final) film in the Guardians series reads that the new movie finds Pratt’s character Star-lord (Peter Quill), “still reeling from the loss of Gamora” which happened during Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Although, of course, that part’s a little complicated.
Now, Quill, “must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
