Katie Maloney Reacts to Possible ‘FOMO’ Over Vanderpump Rules Pregnancies
Katie Maloney isn’t feeling any fear of missing out (FOMO) over the recently news regarding her Vanderpump Rules co-stars’ pregnancies.

Katie Maloney isn’t feeling any fear of missing out (FOMO) over the recently news regarding her Vanderpump Rules co-stars’ pregnancies.
Following the baby news of Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, and, most recently, Brittany Cartwright, a fan on Instagram confronted Katie about whether or not she and husband Tom Schwartz would be next to announce a pregnancy.
“I’m ready for a baby announcement from them,” an Instagram user wrote this week, according to a screenshot shared by Comments by Bravo.
“How much foam do you want to bet Katie is having right now. Literally other than Kristen she’s the odd one out and you know how much she loves that!” another person replied.
But after seeing the comments herself, Katie set the record straight, insisting that she has “zero fomo” when it comes to her co-stars’ pregnancies.
“I’m so happy for my friends and really enjoying being along for their journey,” Katie told the two women. “It will happen for us when it’s right. sometimes it just takes time and doesn’t always happen the first try.”
Maloney and Schwartz Are Constantly Asked About Their Baby Plans
Ever since the reality stars were seen walking down the aisle during a February 2017 episode of Vanderpump Rules, fans of the series, and people who have interviewed them, have been questioning them about when they will start a family.
“So everyone also was asking us about babies, when we’re going to have a baby, but you heard Mr. Commitment Phobe, himself,” Katie began on an episode of her Dear Media podcast, You’re Gonna Love Me, weeks ago, via Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
“I’ve gotten better about being in the present, and not living in the future, like we talked about. But I’m still kind of living in the present, like, we’ll have a baby when the time is right, when I have, you know…,” Tom replied.
“Honey, we’re not getting any younger. We’re going to have a baby,” Katie interjected.
While Tom has always been a bit hesitant when it comes to big life decisions, he took his wife’s comment quite seriously and suggested they “go make a baby” right then and there.
“It doesn’t work like that. I got the app, and right now, tonight is not the time,” Katie explained. “But we can practice.”
Tom is Sometimes Scared of Having a Child
When Tom spoke to Us Weekly in March of this year, he admitted that when it comes to starting a family with Katie, the idea can be “scary” at times.
“We both talk a big game,” he said at the time. “During life, during brunch, during interviews, we’re like, ‘Yes, we’re ready to have kids,’ but then we get home and we’re like, ‘Uh …’ When it comes down to it and you’re in the bedroom, you’re like, ‘OK, we’re doing this. We’re just trying to make a baby.’”
Tom went on to say that he is “ready” and has “always” loved children before adding that he doesn’t want to wait too long to conceive his first child because he doesn’t “want to be a rickety, old dad.” Instead, as he explained, he wants “to be able to run around with my kid and throw him over my shoulder and play ball with him, or her.”
Months later, when Katie sat down for a chat with Us Weekly, she confirmed that she and Tom had discussed the possibility of starting a family this past summer.
“[My husband], Tom [Schwartz] and I definitely were talking about this summer being like the time to do the baby dance and try to make it happen,” she said on August 12. “We’re trying not to stress out about and are trying to keep [our] eyes on our own page, but still be excited for someone else.”
Katie then said that she didn’t feel as if she had to “fast track” her plans to get pregnant simply because a number of her Vanderpump Rules cast mates had begun to start families of their own.
“If it happens, great!” she shared. “That’s the main thing that everyone always says, they’re like, ‘Just don’t stress about it or don’t be anxious about it. It’ll happen when you’re not thinking about it.’”
A Pump Rules Baby Boom Kicked Off Earlier This Year
In June, just days after Bravo confirmed they would not be renewing Stassi’s contract for season nine of their reality series, along with the contracts of Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni, due to the claims of racism against them, Stassi and fiancé Beau Clark shared her pregnancy news on their Instagram pages.
Then, in September, Lala and her fiancé, Randall Emmett, revealed on their podcast, Give Them Lala… With Randall, that they too were expecting, and weeks later, Brittany and Jax Taylor went public with their own baby news in a series of Instagram posts.
While Brittany and Jax haven’t yet learned whether their baby is a boy or a girl, both Stassi and Lala are pregnant with girls.
Following the news of Stassi’s pregnancy months ago, a number of followers urged Katie to have a baby of her own, saying that the child would be able to grow up with Stassi’s little girl.
“I think Stassi’s baby girl is going to need a best friend to play with,” one social media user wrote, as another added, “Time for you to make her a BFF.”
“Definitely,” Katie replied.
Katie and Tom Got Married Twice
As fans of Vanderpump Rules well know, Katie and Tom’s first wedding was held in August 2016 at the Twenty Mile House in Cromberg, California and filmed for the episode of the show. However, after failing to property fill out their marriage paperwork, the couple found out that they weren’t legally wed two years later.
While they could have simply corrected the paperwork, or filled out new forms, Katie and Tom instead chose to host a second wedding at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas in July 2019, which was also filmed for the show.
“Listen, our [first] wedding was perfect,” Tom told Page Six after his Sin City nuptials. “That was my dream wedding I never knew I wanted. I didn’t know I wanted a wedding in the woods with a woodsy, elegant theme. But now that it happened, I did and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It was very sacred, probably the happiest day of my life.”
During his 2016 wedding, which was officiated by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump, Tom was joined by a number of his co-stars at the altar, including Tom Sandoval, Jax, Ariana Madix, Kristen Doute, and Scheana Shay.
As for his thoughts on his second wedding, which aired during the eighth season of Vanderpump Rules earlier this year, Tom said his Vegas nuptials were “special in a different way.”
“The paper ceremony, I like to call it, it was in its own weird little Vegas way, it was kind of a dream come true. It was something I kind of always fantasized about,” he admitted.
There has been no word yet from Bravo on the potential ninth season of Vanderpump Rules but SUR Restaurant, where the show is filmed, did reopen to patrons earlier this week, which could be a sign that production will begin soon.
