It looks like Kendall Jenner is coming under some serious fire after she threw a massive birthday bash over the weekend, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Yep, fans are really not happy with the reality star after news hit the web that she had a big party to celebrate her 25th birthday, and it had 100 guests (including some other well-known celebrities), even though the government and medical professionals have asked people to not gather in big groups, to stay six feet from others and to wear face coverings at all time in public.
For those who don’t know, more than 1,207,112 have died from the disease so far, and more than 46,972,765 have been infected. Health officials have asked for “social distancing,” and have recommended that people stay indoors and avoid public places. So when photos started to emerge of Jenner and her friends partying, the internet quickly started to slam her.
Who Else Attended The Party?
The controversial party went down on Saturday, October 31, at a rooftop bar in Hollywood, CA. Celebrity guests included Kylie Jenner, Justin Bieber, Hailey Baldwin, Paris Hilton, Travis Scott, Quavo, Jaden Smith, Saweetie, Nikita Dragun, Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Winnie Harlow, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Scott Disick, Justine Skye and more. There were reportedly 100 people in total, and they all took rapid coronavirus tests before attending the party and weren’t allowed to enter until they got a negative test result. No one at the party, however, appeared to wear a mask.
Kendall Jenner Wanted To Keep The Party Private
To make matters worse, someone from the party posted a picture of signs that were placed all over the celebration that said, “Take all the photos you want, but please do not post on social media of any kind.”
“Not Kendall Jenner hosting a Halloween party in the middle of the pandemic and making a ‘no social media’ rule so people wouldn’t know,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Many people also spoke out about the employees at the party, and the risks they were forced to face.
“OK, Kendall Jenner blowing out candles as a masked waiter holds her cake and tries to move out of the way was actually the scariest thing I saw on Halloween,” another person tweeted.
“I feel so bad for the servers catering this super-spreader party,” someone responded.
Some Of The Halloween Costumes Were Controversial Too
While we have to admit that some of the Halloween costumes during the event were pretty epic (Jenner dressed up as Pamela Anderson and The Weeknd took on the Nutty Professor), some of them were pretty controversial. For example, Smith allegedly dressed up as a COVID patient, and people were not amused by it. He was photographed wearing an oxygen mask, and he quickly received backlash online.
“Not Jaden Smith dressing up as a COVID patient for Halloween. Apart from attending that Kendall Jenner party, he’s making fun of the situation. My mom and my aunt are asthmatic, and they were rushed to the hospital with oxygen many times. I’m beyond disgusted,” one Twitter user wrote.
Miley Cyrus Is Not Here For It
Miley Cyrus, on the other hand, spent the spooky holiday at home reading a book.
And it looks like she was unamused by the party, since she reportedly unfollowed all the stars who attended on Instagram!
Kim Kardashian Has Also Come Under Fire For Something Similar
Jenner’s party comes just a few days after her sister Kim came under fire for something similar. On October 27, 2020, the SKIMS Shapewear founder posted some snaps of her and her close friends on a lavish vacation in honor of her 40th birthday.
“After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time,” she tweeted. “We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is.”
Some people were not here for her expensive getaway amid the pandemic, but according to Us Weekly, Kardashian is unfazed by the backlash.
“Her birthday party was so much fun, and she had an absolute blast. She’s in a better mood with all her friends surrounding her,” a source told them. “Even though she’s getting backlash for taking her friends away, she doesn’t care. She thinks it’s because people are jealous. She wanted to celebrate turning 40, and she’s happy with where she’s at in life and knows who she is and is more confident than ever.”
Another insider added, “Kim doesn’t care about the backlash. She sees celebs have a birthday party on a beach in Malibu and it’s fine, but because she has the means to safely transport her family, she is torn down for it. The party was amazing. It was just family and Kim’s closest friends — really just her core group.”
