Kim Kardashian is one step closer to taking her bar exam and following her dream of becoming a lawyer and advocate for the wrongfully imprisoned.

The reality TV superstar recently took her midterms, and said that she’s eyeing a time period for when she plans to take the bar exam – the last thing she needs to become a lawyer.

As an activist and advocate, Kardashian has long talked about her interest in criminal justice and hopes to represent the underserved, and those who the justice system treats unfairly.

Now, she’s one step closer.

Kim K Aces her Midterms

When Kim Kardashian first said that she was planning on becoming a lawyer, people scoffed.

Kardashian, an accomplished entrepreneur, is best known for her infamous Ray J sex tape, and for her family’s reality shows.

Since first bursting into the public spotlight, Kardashian has made a name for herself by launching several impressive brands and becoming an advocate for criminal justice reform.

Now, Kardashian is following in the footsteps of her famous father and pursuing a career in law.

And she’s one step closer to making that career a reality.

Kardashian appeared on the Today show this week to promote her new SKIMS shapewear popup in Rockefeller Center.

When speaking with Today host Savannah Guthrie, Kardashian said, “I’m still studying. I’m actually in constitutional law 1 and 2 right now. It’s my toughest; not the biggest fan of it, I’ve been sharing my struggle.”

Struggles or not, though, Kardashian is making it happen. She revealed her scores to Guthrie, saying, “But with that said, I took a midterm yesterday. I got 100 percent and then I got a 95 percent on my other midterm. So I feel — that gives me that boost of confidence again just to push through.”

And when asked about her plans for the future, including taking the bar exam, Kardashian responded, “Hopefully in the next year or so, I can take the official bar and be done.”

Back in 2021, Kardashian took what’s known as the “baby bar,” and she passed. At the time, she wrote on social media, “OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!! Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection. For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me.”

People online are quick to criticize Kardashian’s desire to pursue a law career, and brush her off as inconsequential or overly privileged.

While Kardashian is, undeniably, the poster child for wealth privilege, a lot must be said about the fact that she doesn’t have to involve herself in criminal justice, and yet she chooses to.

She first began showing her interest in justice in 2019, and has openly involved herself in multiple cases where she feels someone is either wrongfully imprisoned or they received a harsher sentence than their crime deserved.

The criminal justice system is often biased against Black people and People of Color, something Kardashian hopes to work to fight against once she has achieved her goal of becoming a lawyer.

Congrats on the midterms, Kim – and good luck.
