Kim Felt that Being Married to Kanye was Fine, but He’s Beyond Her Help

Despite everything, Kim Kardashian does not think that her marriage to controversial rapper and avowed antisemite Kanye West was a “failure.”

Recently, Kim dished the dirt on the On Purpose podcast with Jay Shetty, and she got real on a variety of topics.

The entrepreneur and reality star opened up about the challenges of motherhood, finding love, and one thing everyone’s been wondering – how she feels about her marriage to Kanye now that the world sees him for who he truly is.

Kardashian didn’t actually name-drop Kanye, but you can put together context clues from her conversation to figure out who she’s talking about.

Kim talked with Shetty a lot about having had “different views” from someone in her life who she didn’t have “the power” to change.

She explains, “You can’t force your beliefs and project that on someone that thinks something totally different.” The mother of four said that she was struggling to “co-exist really well” with a particular person.

Any thoughts on who that might be?

10 points if you said the Hitler-loving, career-crashing business mogul she was most recently married to.

Kardashian goes on to say that she does believe it’s “okay to have” conflicting opinions. She continues on by saying that’s how “the world goes ’round.”

Speaking to listeners of the podcast, Kardashian encouraged people to prioritize relationships where they “align in the same values and morals and things at your core.”

Kardashian added thoughtfully, “It’s OK to realize that this life is so short, and you should go and find the people that do align with what you really believe in. You can’t really force things upon other people,” she continued. “You can’t expect them to be where you’re at, at your level.”

And now that she’s got a healthier head on her shoulders about relationships, Kardashian says she’s trying to pass that lesson on to her four kids, who she shares with Kanye.

Those kids – North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4 — are learning from mom as they look “for friends and partners and relationships” themselves.

While it’s gracious of Kim to refuse to say anything bad about her ex-husband, it’s a little alarming to hear her talk about different views as though admiring Hitler is something most people have to contend with in their relationship.

There are differing views and then differing views, Kim.

But of course she still has to keep coparenting with West, so it’s understandable that she’s trying to find a peaceful path forward. In December of 2022, Kim explained that she’s trying to keep West’s worst headlines from their children. “If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them? That’s really heavy grown-up s–t that they’re not ready to deal with.”

Since the divorce, Kanye has careened from one business disaster to another, and is now reportedly married to model and Yeezy employee Bianca Censori.

Censori recently turned heads by posing nearly-nude for new Yeezy kicks, but Kanye doesn’t seem to have changed much since Kim cut him adrift.
