The One Drop Foundation has just been given an enormous boon; over $800,000. La Cuvée One Drop wine auction in partnership with French auction house Artcurial and Ducasse Paris held an enormously successful wine auction that brought hundreds of thousands of dollars for the One Drop Foundation’s vital mission. Wine Auction a Rousing Success
It was a night of fine wine auctioning and charity, with some of the biggest wine enthusiast and collectors in the business showing up to participate. On November 19th, the La Cuvée One Drop event kicked off, co-chaired by co-chaired by Guy Laliberté, Laurent Dassault and Alain
Ducasse. The evening opened with a gala dinner signed by Ducasse and his team for 200 guests. After, Artcurial hosted the auction, which was met with success. Maître Stéphane Aubert was the live auctioneer for the night, and guests who couldn’t attend in person were invited to bid online.
The night in Paris netted $821,500 for the One Drop Foundation. In a statement, the One Drop team shared the night’s successes; “Highlights of the November 19 evening auction event included a mathusalem of Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2009, Domaine La Romanée that sold for $110,551, a mathusalem of Musigny 2000, Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier that sold for $52,024, a bottle of Montrachet 2016 ‘’Exceptionnelle Vendange des 7 Domaines’ that sold for $32,515 and a guitar signed by Sting, a Jeroboam de Tenta Il Pallagio, IGT 1530 of 2019 signed by Trudie, Sting and Riccardo Cotarella and Italian estate experience that sold for $26,012.
Building on its first wine and spirits event in 2020, this second edition of La Cuvée One Drop featured a two-part philanthropic wine auction that offered lots of the world’s finest wines, spirits, epicurean delights and experiences in support of the life-saving work of the One Drop Foundation. For the first auction on November 4, the One Drop Foundation and Artcurial joined forces for an exceptional daytime auction sale that featured over 76 lots followed by the second auction that took place in the form of the evening gala event on November 19. All net proceeds from both auctions will benefit One Drop Foundation.”
On top of the night’s auction winnings, Artcurial will donate the buyer’s premium of 14.4% charged to every buyer on top of the hammer price to One Drop.
One Drop’s Mission
The One Drop Foundation is the brain and heartchild of Cirque du Soleil and Lune Rouge founder Guy Laliberté. Laliberté created it with a dream of a better world, and the foundation focuses on providing access to living conditions that allow empowerment and development.
The goal is to provide ensure sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene to the most vulnerable communities, using innovative partnerships, creativity, and the power of art.
