Coast to Coast Makeover: Landmark Las Vegas Hotel is Going Through a Transformation

An iconic Vegas destination is going to look a little different soon.

New York-New York, the one in Las Vegas, is going to bring a little East Coast flavor to the Las Vegas Strip. Well, a little more flavor, anyway. Joining other iconic Vegas venues getting a bit of an upgrade this year, New York-New York is the perfect place to get some Big Apple vibes in the heart of Sin City.

New York, New York, Las Vegas

The latest Las Vegas hotel to get an update in 2022 is the New York-New York.

Owned by MGM, the New York is one of the Vegas Strip's themed venues, which harnesses the vibe and flavor of New York City right on Main Street Las Vegas.

MGM will be pouring $63M into the hotel's 1,900 rooms so that each one feels like a slice of Big Apple pie.

Things like exposed metal, faux brick and a chic urban vibe will help guests feel transported across the continent every time they enter their New York-New York retreat. The first remodeled rooms will be available after October of this year, with the rest being unveiled next year.

To embark on a remodel of our rooms and suites is the next step in keeping the resort fresh and giving guests new reasons to visit. Whether coming for business or pleasure, guests will find our new rooms offer a stylish and modern respite as they enjoy the excitement of Las Vegas.

The team has already updated New York-New York's Cirque du Soleil event with the introduction of "Mad Apple," as well as updating the Big Apple Coaster and Big Apple Arcade. More changes are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Another Vegas Hotel Getting a Facelift

It's not just the Big Apple in Vegas that's getting a bit of a makeover, however.

MGM's rival Caesars Entertainment recently redid one of their iconic destinations on the strip Caesars Palace.

The resort's signature dome was renovated, and a new Caesars Sportsbook App launched to streamline guests' gaming experience on the floor and around the resort.

The resort itself dates back to 1966 and has a storied past in the annals of Vegas history, including the fact that Jimmy Hoffa himself helped secure part of the loan that opened it in the first place.

From its iconic Roman architecture to state-of-the-art casino and entertainment experience, Caesars Palace is a duality of past meets present, and the newest upgrades help propel it into the future.
