SOS Just Released: ‘Lavender Haze’ Music Video By Taylor Swift
Once again Taylor Swift met us at midnight with the drop of the highly anticipated music video for her single

Once again Taylor Swift met us at midnight with the drop of the highly anticipated music video for her single ‘Lavender Haze’. Track number one on her album Midnights is about her romance with her long-term boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
Swift previously explained, “I happened upon the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men. I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love. If you were in the ‘lavender haze,’ then that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. And I thought that was really beautiful.”
Swift continued, “I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the ‘lavender haze,’ you’ll do anything to stay there.”
“And not let people bring you down off of that cloud. I think that a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just like ‘public figures,’ because we live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out if you’re in love with somebody they’re going to weigh in on it.”
The Grammy Award Winning artist touched on her personal relationship explaining, “Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors and tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”
I Woke Up Like This In A Lavender Haze
Getting back to the even bigger news. Yes, the music video for this beautifully thought-out song has been released. It stars Swift and Laith Ashley, a transgender actor, and model, who Swift labeled an “incredible costar” that she “absolutely adored working with.”
And, Ashley wrote to Swift on Instagram, “You are magic. Thank you for letting me play a small part in your story.”
The surrealism of the video takes fans in a “sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream” encapsulated with purple smoke, flowers blooming from the carpet, and Swift’s television opening into a galaxy.
The singer shared, “This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released,” she said, “and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights.”

The One
Swift and Alwyn have been together for 6 years now. The two were spotted at the same concert in October 2016 after rumors had been circling of the two since the Met Gala just months earlier in May. Although, by the following May in 2017, sources close to the couple told The Sun that the pair had been together for a few months. “Taylor and Joe are the real deal, this is a very serious relationship,” they said. “After her 1989 tour and all the attention Taylor received, she learned she had to be more protective of her personal life and she and Joe decided early on to keep their private life private.”
And just a month later, in June, Swift and Alwyn were spotted together by paparazzi while in Nashville. Apparently, the handsome blonde was meeting Swift’s family. The two continued to get cozy but also stayed under wraps as best as possible through the coming years. And, if we do say so ourselves, they’ve done quite a fantastic job.
The cat was out of the bag in February 2019 when Swift skipped the Grammys to go be in her lavender haze with Alwyn at the BAFTAs. The two were even photographed holding hands on the way to the afterparty.
Although the couple has finally shared that they’re in fact together (and in love) they have continued to stay as private as possible about the intricate details. And, good for them!
