It’s a stunning and heartbreaking story that has gripped the world. A Los Angeles-based model goes missing and her body is dumped at a hospital, her friend dumped at another hospital barely clinging to life. Masked men supposedly grabbed the women and subsequently dumped their bodies, but many questions remain. The family is begging for answers in the wake of the death of Christy Giles. Was it murder? Here’s what we know so far.

What We Know

Los Angeles Model Killed

Instagram models are a dime a dozen, but Christy Giles was something special. With a strong and classical bone structure and a talent for finding the right light, the Instagram model was an up-and-coming star with a world of talent and promise for the future. That promise and her vibrant life would be cut short in November 13th, in a mysterious and horrifying way.

ABC7 shares, “‘People share these amazing videos that they have with her, and it just brings back her energy, and I know I’ll never get to see her or kiss her or touch her again, and it’s just so heartbreaking,’ said a tearful Jan Cilliers, Giles’ husband.”

But what happened? Here’s what we know so far:

  • Cillers was in San Francisco at the time of his wife’s death. The two shared phone locations for safety.
  • On Friday November 12, Giles went out partying with two friends, including Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola.
  • Saturday night around 5 PM, around 12 hours after she was last heard from, Giles’ body was found dumped in front of Southern California Hospital in Culver City.
  • Giles was pronounced dead at the time she was discovered.
  • Cabrales-Arzola was left at another hospital, two hours later – barely clinging to life. She is in a coma with no brain activity and is unlikely to survive.
  • The third friend left early and made it home safely.
  • Giles’ husband, Cillers, says there’s video evidence showing masked men dumping his wife’s body from a car with removed license plates.
  • Cabrales-Arzola’s toxicology report has returned showing large amounts of heroin in their system.
  • Cillers is crying foul, claiming that neither woman would do heroin willingly.

Family Desperate for Answers

A GoFundMe has been launched to help the family, with costs going towards an investigation into what happened. Cillers is adamant that neither woman would have done heroin willingly. Although police have hinted that they believe it was an accidental overdose, Cillers believes something more nefarious is at play.

The GFM site has raised nearly $100K and reads in part, “On Saturday November 13th Christy & her friend Hilda were allegedly drugged. Twelve hours later three men in an all black, masked in bandanas; with license plates removed, dropped Christy off on the sidewalk of a hospital. Christy was already lifeless and pronounced dead at the scene. Two hours later the same vehicle with two masked men dropped her friend, Hilda off at a different hospital. Hilda is currently in critical condition and fighting for her life. This story is by no means unique. Since Saturday we’ve all received a number of messages from other females who have eerily similar stories, except the only difference between them & Christy and Hilda, is they survived.”

As they launch private investigations and plead for information, Cabrales-Arzola continues to fight for her life. It’s a horrifying and unimaginable end to what should have been an unremarkable but fun girls’ night out.

Another Model Makes the News

Los Angeles Model Killed

Another model has been making headlines, and for equally sinister reasons. But in this situation, it’s the model who’s the perp. In a bizarre movie-like story, model Camila Maroden is suspected of having hired someone to execute her husband – at their son’s 4th birthday party.

NY Post reports, “Camila Marodin, who is suspected of living a secret life as a cartel queen, was arrested after Ricardo Marodin was shot dead during the family celebration.

Cops initially believed Ricardo was the gang leader – but they now understand his wife holds a senior position in the criminal organization in the coastal town of Matinhos, Parana.

And they have since uncovered her hoard of 13 luxury houses worth 3 million Brazilian real ($547,900) and five cars, including two Audis and a Porsche.”

Police have reportedly been investigating the gang they’re allegedly involved in for months. Maroden was caught on the way home from her mother’s house after stashing a Glock there. Reportedly, the couple was living an ostentatious and out loud lifestyle, not hiding their allegedly ill-gotten gains. Maroden says Ricardo’s death is a case of, “mistaken identity,” but clearly police don’t believe it.
